One of the best cinema experiences you can have in Tokyo. The cinema spans 12 floors, each offering a different cinematic experience, such as IMAX or 4DX, for you to choose from. They also have machines for printing pre-ordered tickets or staff available to guide you through the ticket-buying process on the day of your visit. The popcorn, drink, and snack options are decent, though the staff's attitude could use improvement. Recently, the cinema has started incorporating English into their facilities, making it slightly easier for foreigners and tourists, although most information remains in Japanese.
While waiting for your movie, there are other entertainment options like multiple gacha and arcade machines, in collaboration with Capcom, located on the lower floors. Additionally, there are restaurants, a café, and a bar on the 12th floor, which you can access with a coupon by purchasing a grand ticket. However, the bar quality is quite mediocre, feeling more like a glorified Costa Coffee with a good view of Ikebukuro.
Overall, the cinematic experience is highly enjoyable, with various combos and prices depending on the day of the week. I highly recommend visiting at least once if you're in Japan. However, I hope they expand the merchandise section and improve the staff's attitude at the bar and...
Read moreOne of the most inefficient places I have been to in Japan. I was excited to go because of the good reviews, however my experience was not so positive.
Out of 10 cash registers only 5 were open, causing a 35min queue for popcorn. For popcorn?!? There were more than 5 employees behind the counter but they never opened another register even though the line was only getting bigger. I really wanted to have the full cinema experience so I waited even though that meant I was going to be late for the movie. And after 35min…guess what? I was served COLD popcorn…
Anyways, a tip for people who want to go to this cinema is to go at least 35min earlier.
One positive thing about the popcorn and drinks was that they come with a tray that can be put in the drink holder on your seat and it becomes a mini table.
Speaking of the seats there wasn’t a lot of leg room. I was in the IMAX theatre and found it to be very loud especially when music...
Read moreIncredible new cinema, at the very top of its game. The thing is built like a temple dedicated to the 9th art sprawling through 8 floors. As you go up, pictures on the walls let you travel through time from the beggining of the art form (4th floor) to today (12th floor). The imax room possess the largest screen in Japan, and a laser projector technology going beyond imax normal capabilities. The lobby for the imax is an incredible lounge with a panoramic view over the city and an animated digital ceiling. This cinema also contains the only room in Japan (possibly worldwide?) mixing 4DX and screenX technologies. Based on the website all other rooms also have improved projectors and audio for deeper colors and sound. A Dolby atmos room is also available. So, basically if you're looking for the top of the game in cinema entertainment you must experiment going to this brand new place opened on...
