Dormy inn Korakuen — Attraction in Tokyo

Dormy Inn will never let you down! ||Dormy Inn Korakuen sits on a great location with a few metro stations nearby. You can go to most places by different lines. Exit A7 of Kasuga station is the closest with lift! So you needn't worry even if you have heavy suitcases! While the exit is very close to the hotel so raining won't be a matter as well. The airport shuttle bus was suspended during our visit so we depend on the metro all the time. ||The check-in lobby is on the 2/F. There is welcome drink machine with coffee. |As other Dormy inn, we can eat ramen at night (tasty!!), ice lolly after hot spring at night and lactic acid after hot spring in the morning. ||The triple room is spacious in Japanese standard. We can put 3 big suitcases in the room and still have a walkable pathway in the room. The beds are comfortable. Memory foam pillows are provided if asked. ||The hot spring is ok but I won't say it is the best comparing to some other hotels. ||What I like most is the free washing machines! There are plenty of them, so I never need to worry if they are occupied. The dryers are not free. Anyway, there are a lot of hangers in the room. ||You may set the time for room cleaning via TV. However, there were no room cleaning for 2 days during out stay. They only left some new towels at our door. ||We like the comic room pretty much. You may read comic books, relax or try the massage chair there. IT was a shame that some selfish guests who would occupy the chair without considering the other guests. ||Check-in and check- out was easy and quick. It’s important to note that this hotel is a combination of the traditional Dormy Inn business hotel and a cabin-style capsule hotel. I booked a cabin room as my first experience with this sort of accommodation. ||The room itself is a step up from the typical capsule hotel setup. Rather than just a capsule, the capsule bed is enclosed in a small cabin with a small desk and shutter door. There is enough room for some luggage and it provides an element of privacy that you won’t get at a capsule hotel however you won’t be able to get work done at the desk during the daytime as you are asked to vacate the room during daytime hours so that the area can be cleaned. Keep this in mind should you book a cabin room as you will not be able to sleep in all day. ||The hotel cabin area features a communal restroom with ample sinks and toilets. Note that the men’s side does not feature showers and you will be expected to use the public bath. I believe the women’s area does have shower stalls. I recommend using the public bath whenever staying at Dormy Inn hotels so this really should not be an issue. ||The hotel is located next to Kasuga station and the local area features quite a few restaurants and is even walking distance from Tokyo Dome City. ||I’m not a huge fan of capsule hotels and I mainly stayed here for the new experience. I’ve stayed at many amazing hotels in Tokyo so I can’t say I’m blown away by the experience. All that said, if you’re a fan of capsule hotels or if your budget requires it, this is probably one of the best capsule hotels in Tokyo. During my recent stay at Kasuga no Yu Dormy Inn Korakuen, I was pleasantly surprised from the get-go. The reception was exceptionally warm and welcoming, setting a fantastic first impression. I must highlight the incredibly soft bedding that turned every night into an ultimate comfort and relaxation experience.

The standout feature of my stay was undoubtedly the Onsen, offering a perfect retreat from Tokyo’s bustling life. The traditional Japanese bathing culture, combined with modern amenities, made each visit a memorable wellness journey.

While the staff was consistently friendly and accommodating, I noticed that enhanced English proficiency could further optimize communication and service. It would benefit international guests and make the overall experience even more seamless.
