I arrived at about 3:50pm knowing it would close at 5pm. I was enjoying my stroll around the garden liking the contrast between being in a green space in the middle of all the tall buildings. I didn't even mind the sound of the city around me.
The feeling of peace quickly turned to annoyance. Right at 4pm there was a loud speaker that came on announcing in several languages that it would be closing "soon". I didn't realize it was the garden at first since that was a whole hour away. Then about 20 minutes later, another round of the same announcement came on. Ok fine. Then, at 4:40, the announcement came on again but this time never stopped. Instead they played a horrible loop of music that was a mix between the exit music of a theme park + the music from Squid Games (if you've seen that show). It was SO loud and the sound of the speaker is really bad quality so it honestly just hurt my ears. I am posting a video so you can hear how loud it was. The speaker was across the pond and it was echoing. I decided after 10 minutes of just getting more and more frustrated with the music loop on repeat, it was time to leave. I checked the website and it says last entry at 4:30pm which means you'd only get 10 minutes of peace before you got blasted with the horrible recording.
I continued my walk and the music was echoing in the plaza so I couldn't even escape the noise even after leaving the garden! Everything is so quiet and respectful in general and this level of noise felt out of place.
My suggestion is come and leave before 4pm.
And my suggestion to the management or staff, please stop playing the recording so loud. The garden is small. We can 100% hear the speakers. There are two - one by the entrance and one by the back so you can't escape the loud volume. The noise was excessive. And please please stop playing the music on repeat for the last 20 minutes. It was...
Read moreThere’s a construction going at the south side. You could not go from there. So maybe north side is the only way to go now. It is definitely longer than the maps suggested. From the south side it would have taken only 3 minutes.
The garden is part of 9 metropolitan heritage gardens. It’s not a large garden but still offers beautiful transitional Japanese gardens feel.
There are some Sakura blossoms in the back of the garden. You could see from the entrance. And that’s where people gathered sitting under the trees. There are some benches available. There is also another grassy grove where people put out their picnic sitting ware.
Many locals turned out. And mostly seniors. Also families with kids. Great place for kids...
Read moreA nice place to bring a bento and eat lunch amongst the gardens. Very close to the north exit of Hamamatsucho station and also close to Daimon on the Oedo line. A calm place. Not very large gardens, but entrance fee was a small 150¥, so can't expect much. We went on 16th of March and the buds of the Sakura trees were just getting ready to bloom. Overall, clean gardens, mostly well kept. There appears to be some renovation to the center bridge currently which does stop you from...
