The hotel has a small bath tub and shower, separated washing sink, tiny fridge, portable electricity hot plate, kettle, pot, mug, slippers and robe. ||If you are like me and you don't have cel phone, computer or tablet you'll need to go to an internet café because the hotel doesn't have any computer in the hall. There is one internet café on the right side of the station but it is not easy to find because it is in the 4th floor of the building and the nootice board is in japanese and once you find t it is very hard to understand how it works. Nobody speaks any english. ||It is located 5 minutes away from the JR Yamanote Sugamo station (from there it's just six station to either Ueno or Shinjuku and a mere 2 to Ikebukuro) and the subway Mita line, meaning you got excellent access to the city.||You have many convenience stores around and even a 24h supermarket close to the JR Station.||The main shopping street nearby is the old ladyes paradise but it also means that you can find some affordable souvenirs.||I would definitely stay...
Read moreIt's a nice place, walking distance to the station. Sugamo station is great because it's on the Yamanote line so you can easily access anywhere in Tokyo. There's also the subway which gives more travel options.||Jizo Dori shopping street is very close to the hotel, some good options for shopping and good restaurants around. Komeda coffee is also nearby, and a great place for breakfast.||The staff was very friendly. You should know this is not a serviced hotel, so they will not make up the room. But they do change towels if you request. Wifi worked ok, shower pressure was good, the coin-operated laundry was handy.||Cons:||I don't know if all their rooms are smoking, but when I booked smoking was the only available. I don't smoke but I thought it would be ok, it was very smelly though. But then I asked the reception and they gave me some anti-odour spray and it solved...

The rooms have improved, amenities and accommodations have been freshened up since Flex Stay has absorbed this property. ||||Only a ten minute walk to the train station, a "100 Yen" store along the way, and an excellent mom and pop restaurant around the corner, NEXT to the Pizza Hut. Chef used to cook for diplomatic crowd, The springtime takenoko (bamboo shoot) dish was worth the visit!||||Reception is only staffed during day hours but able to receive and respond to your needs. ||||Laundromat on site. Neighborhood is residential for the most part. A 7/11 at corner.||||Price is comparable to AirBnB's in the area... and a whole lot better eg. mattress beds, own bathroom, minimal cooking facilities with fridge.
