Surprising to find such a well preserved Monument in the Jersey countryside, Neolithic stones in excellent condition. We had a map and Google but still had to ask where this was so be prepared for a bit of a hunt for the entrance There is only a small sign at the end of a path. However, when we got there it was amazing. As well as the standing stones there is a complete Dolmen you can stand under. I was expecting a few stones and banks bit it is a complete monument. It is also mercifully untainted by commercialism and free from graffiti. A big thanks to the locals who not only showed us there the Dolmen was but allowed us to turn in their drive and park in one of their spaces for the short duration...
Read more"This Neolithic passage grave was built around 6,000 years ago (c. 4000-3250 BC). It consists of a passage leading into an unusual double chamber. The main chamber is open and surrounded by a series of small stone cists (boxes) while the end chamber is covered by a massive 24-ton capstone. The whole site was originally encircled by a low mound with two drystone walls and a ring of upright stones. The site was first recorded in 1682 and was excavated three times before 1910. Human remains were found in the cists and finds from the chamber include pottery vessels, two polished stone axes and two stone pendants." From Jersey...

Down a pretty grass track surrounded by trees, you enter the sacred space..so peaceful ancient and empty. There is no parking and blink and you will miss it driving along the lane.
