A fantastic location that really can't be beat. If you get a room on the side of the sea you're set - it's beautiful. On the other side however? You may have to put up with some noise from the constantly running kitchens just below you - aside from that, our room was very pleasant and got the job done. The food inside is great, and complimentary towels for use at the beach were very appreciated - what lost this place some points was the service. No one was actively rude to us, but almost every staff member we interacted with ranged from distracted to downright confused. We had confusion with our check-out because there was no one manning the front desk and we needed a waitress to help us sign out - and we were almost charged the wrong amount. Also, when ordering food or drinks so days, we did get some slightly irritated or confused attitudes from those behind the bar. Nothing egregious, just noticeable, made us feel like we'd done something wrong! But overall a very nice stay - the location alone sells it tenfold

I called by for a drink, and light meal, and it was their Five O'Clock Happy Hour for oysters! So I happily ordered half a dozen, washed down with a Jersey gin and tonic. The oysters were slim and delicate ( possibly the Fine de Claire variety), and served appropriately with light vinegar sauce and lemon. They had a strong sea flavour and very satisfying. Although eating on the terrace would have been even better ( it was full) the interior was sunny and well lit and furnished. So the next time you're visiting Mont Orgueil or Grey call into the Moorings Hotel for at least a drink-- it was quite classy and relaxing. And try to catch the Oyster Happy Hour.

We only went there for our team Christmas dinner so can't really comment on the rooms. The interior décor is very nice and eye pleasing. Friendly staff members and attentive. Often checking whether we need more drinks or anything. We went for the Christmas set menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had turkey for main which was delicious and the right portion without being too much. Definitely worth a try and would go back there again. There are plenty of parking spaces nearby or in walking distance.

5 stars – A 4 Star Hotel with 5-Star Service

My wife and I stayed at The Moorings Hotel & Restaurant for 4 days, and it was simply outstanding. The location on Gorey Pier is beautiful, but what truly made our stay special was the service — it was of the highest quality from start to finish. Matthew and Iselin made us feel completely at home, and the waiters were equally fantastic.

The food was exceptional. We enjoyed two wonderful evening meals in the main restaurant, both cooked and presented to perfection, (The best Gazpacho soup ever) and breakfast each morning was equally impressive. We also tried their second restaurant, Maddies, and I can honestly say they make the best pizzas we’ve ever had.

It was all the thoughtful little touches that really stood out — like supplying towels when we went for a swim in the sea, and even charging my wife’s Apple Watch because we’d forgotten the charger. These moments of genuine care and attention made the stay unforgettable.

This may be a four-star hotel, but the service is firmly five-star. We can’t recommend The Moorings highly enough and look forward to returning. Best...

We ate at The Moorings on Wednesday evening to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, my husband had the chicken livers to start & said they were sooo tender & delicious. For main he had the Biefstuk with Jersey royals & broccoli which again was melt in the mouth, I had the Grouville Fruits de Mer to which I have never tasted seafood so good, the oysters & the prawns were outstanding. To finish I had the Malva Sponge served with Jersey ice cream, recommended by Dom.The whole meal from start to finish was incredible, the atmosphere & attentive staff made the night very special. A very big hats off to the chef Martin & his team, who I know is passionate about his food & creating memorable dishes for the restaurant. We will definitely eat here again next time we...
