Wow! Rarely does a restaurant so unexpectedly blow us away. Service was friendly and relaxed, but the food was the star. An amuse bouche was served free of charge; still warm homemade bread, lentil and chorizo hummus, chef's marinaded chilli lemon olives and flavoured olive oil.We ordered simple fish and chips which was beautifully presented with homemade tartar sauce in a little gem cup, amazing truffle and parmesan fries, mushy peas and a homemade curry sauce side. However, the star of the show was the completely off the wall desserts. Husband and I had the same freaked out reaction to the astonishing bacon, truffle honey and English mustard ice cream. He hated it, I thought it was one the the most amazing things I'd ever tasted! Another dessert of poached pear with stilton ice cream, panko encrusted stilton and salted caramel sauce was astonishing, but worked! Hand made chocolates filled with a tarragon flavoured ganache finished the meal perfectly all for a bargain ÂŁ53. This place is innovative, off the wall and full of foodie passion. It deserves it's Michellin mention. Go with an open...

Hands down one of my favourite restaurants, EVER. Kirsty and her incredible team really care about food, customer service and freshest quality ingredients. We arrived late for a drink (the wine list in fantastic) ended up having the scallops starter and then a full round of the ice cream. We booked to come back for lunch the next day. I can not begin to describe just how wonderful everything was. If they could bottle up the atmosphere, food and team - I’d buy it and bring it home - I’d to settle for the chilli salt.

If you go and there are scallops on have them. They were perfect. Additionally the alternative favourite ice creams were brilliant too - chip shop curry was an experience that I couldn’t stop talking about all trip; I think I really enjoyed it. Brought me right back to being 16 and in Ireland.

Anyway, GO book in advance it’s really is a stellar dining experience by a team that really...

the food here is absolutely delicious. Everything is locally sourced, with the suppliers listed at the front of the menu and if you have a local connection with jersey you will probably know how well thought of the suppliers are. We were given homemade bread, olives, hummus and homemade garlic oil as a pre starter. All great. We then had tempura prawns - 5 large prawns in the lightest of batters fresh and crispy from the fryer. Delicious. I then had wild garlic and mushroom linguine and my mother had scallops with jersey royals (not grown under polytunnels but in the open air for a better flavour as all good jersey folk know!) both of which were absolutely perfect. We were too full for puddings but they also looked great. The waitresses were absolutely charming and very smiley. This place deserves to be full every night. 100% go here you...

We arrived just as they had opened and managed to bag the last table. They even accommodated our two dogs and rejigged the table plan so we could dine in the area where dogs are allowed. The menu was very extensive and I did struggle to make a decision as everything sounded so good. I had the Jersey oysters to start, followed by the bass and lobster for mains. I knew I had got to find room for dessert as I had heard about their homemade ice cream. I had the dessert special which was banana cake with their beautiful ice cream. Everything was cooked to perfection and was well presented. The service was impeccable. I couldn't fault a thing. I would definitely return. There is a very small car park here but there is plenty of free parking just a couple of minutes walk away.

Terrible place, I had a crispy pork belly as starter, but out came a deep fried mash of meat which is a disappointment. The sauce came straight out from the fridge which makes a terrible complement to the pork. The main was even worse - I had a salmon fillet which is near expiration date, as I could taste that the fish is beginning to rot. The rocket salad were unwashed and not fresh. The scallops were great, but the chorizo were overcooked and had a strange sour taste. We complained to the manager and asked her to taste our dishes, but she replied that she is vegetarian, and she fully trust the chef who said nothing is wrong with the food. What a horrific dining experience costing 20 pounds per person. I will never return.

We stayed in Gorey recently and enjoyed the Bass and Lobster so much we returned a further 3 times during the course of our 7 night stay! We always received a really warm welcome from Kirstie and Fran along with excellent service. The restaurant it's self has a lovely atmosphere, and you can opt to dine inside or out. The food here is stunning - very inventive and made using high quality local produce, which Kirstie and Dave are very proud of (and rightly so!). We tried so many beautiful dishes, including tempura oysters, octopus, duck, red mullet, scallops and various different wonderful flavours of Ice creams. All were cooked to perfection, seasoned and balanced beautifully. Highly recommended!
