Three months ago, I went to the temple to reserve a date for my wedding next year. I provided the temple admin with my contact details, including my name and phone number, so they could reach out if anyone else tried to book the same date. When I asked if a deposit was needed to secure the date, I was told that only full payment was accepted and that I should make the payment by early December 2024.
However, when I visited the temple in the first week of December 2024 to make the payment, the admin calmly informed me that someone else had already booked and paid for the date I wanted. No one had called or messaged me to check. To make matters worse, they told me that this other booking had been made six months ago! LOL! The admin had taken note of my details in his diary right in front of me but denied that I had ever come in to book the date. After some firm discussion, they finally admitted their mistake but still did not apologize.
I was very disappointed as I had already made other arrangements, though luckily, I managed to change them. Additionally, be aware that you have to give extra money to few people in the temple. For example, there’s a cleaner who always with the smells of alcohol and will follow you around the temple to show you the temple facilities and will repeatedly tell you to “Gavanichekenum" (take care of me). He will say this over and over until you agree to him.
