Haven been to a jight market for long and found out about this when I wanted to go somewhere on a Thursday night and realized that this place is open. It's not hard to get there, pretty close to an MRT station, few stops away from downtown like Bukit Bintang can get there within 30 minutes. It's quite a happening place, and there was a lot of variety of food. The food sold is quite diverse and you don't really see repeats so it was worth the effort to walk from one end to another, not very long if you were to just walk workout stopping then it's 5 minutes. Recommended that you start walking from one end where the shopping mall is to the other end, then make a you turn back. In this way you would have seen all the stalls then decide what to buy as you make your way back. Some of the stuff looks pretty good, with pretty reasonable prices. I saw one which caught my attention, it was the one selling the salted egg dishes, think it's called Ultraman or something. Looked good and the food was like cooked in front of your eyes. I decided to buy and was a regret that it tasted cold, and it was quite expensive ordering a mixed bag. The one I ordered and I liked was the mee jian kueh (also known as Kam Long bao) and the yam dessert. It was good, cheap and filling. Love these night markets you can just get yourself full without a hole in the pocket.

Connaught on wednesday, taman segar on friday. Great amount of varieties available for everyone irregardless you vegetarian or having a carnivorous appetite. Surely can satisfy. Grabbed a number of different stuff here. Gyoza, loklok, sand-baked crab, thai pig trotter rice, vegetarian sushi, fried oyster, char koak kak, smelly tofu, thai pork skewers, mochi and some fancy ice frappes. Shiok eats. Here not as crowded as connaught. Got massage shops around the area to rest your tired legs. Got value for money ktv at 1 end of the street as well.

I have been staying in Tmn Segar for last 15 years and occasionally walk on Friday Pasar Malam. Prices has been increased to high side after the 2020 Pandemics. Anythings that's concerning F&B in this Pasar Malam touched Rm10 and above per set. It is nothing budget or cheap anymore. However I spend wisely and buy those items that us really necessary and eat careful to save more cost. This Pasar Malam is indeed convenient and interesting. Worthwhile to walk around.

Nostalgia. Have been patronising this night market since young. My favorite stalls are as follows: -

lok mei tong shui (六味糖水) - in the alley outside Dragon-I. One man show by an uncle in a food truck. He has been operating from the same spot for at least 10 years. Yes, it may look expensive but don't think the type of ingredients used come cheap. But I don't mind paying a bit more to support humble local businesses such as this. Tip: Order it cold so that it does not taste too sweet. And order it with all the ingredients.

thin crispy apam - in the middle, next to the stall serving salt-baked crabs/lobsters. Be sure to consume them straight after to avoid disappointment.

Chinese fried pork dumplings (中国饺子) - towards the end further away from Leisure Mall. The skin has just the right thickness. The filling is burst full of flavors. It is so tasty that you can even savour it plain (without any dipping sauces).

My family raves about the thick apam balik (曼煎粿) stall situated next to a junction towards the end. You won't miss it as it is the stall with the longest queue. Have not tried it but I heard the uncle is very generous with...

You can get mostly Chinese and some Asian food varieties here. Mostly do look good but don't get your hopes high taste wise...

The pasar malam supposedly to start at 5:00 pm on Fridays but the traders will be there blocking the parking spaces as early as 2:00 - 3:00 pm. Avoid to park at these street parking lots on Friday afternoons.

CAUTION You might find your car totally blocked if you are unfamiliar with the pasar malam activity and may have to wait till the pasar malam is over before being able to get your car out! Park at Leisure Mall or on the streets where the pasar malam...
