Finally came here to try after passing by many times. They have 2 shoplots but are never really crowded. On checking out the menu, their main fare is Teochew porridge. But since I wasn't in the mood for porridge when I visited, I went for the claypot chicken rice instead - RM13 for 1 pax portion and RM16 if you wish to add a small saucer of salted fish. We added on braised pork meat (RM12) and long beans with oyster sauce (RM6). Unfortunately, I dont think these side dishes are freshly cooked. They're precooked and just scooped up and served to you when you order them - the vegetables were especially already cold when served. Overall, I feel the food is just mediocre at best. It's my first time ever eating claypot chicken rice that has fried ikan bilis and peanuts in them. Salted fish is quite fragrant, and the claypot chicken rice itself is alright, but honestly - nothing to really shout home about. Furnishing is quite dated and you can see that they've been around for a very very long time, but my guess is they may not last much longer with the amount of crowd they can attract.

Haven’t come back here for awhile. Most of the food is still good despite the place a little run down & dim. Claypot chicken rice was good and fragrant. Ordered some teochew porridge + dishes too. Some of the dishes doesn’t taste as good as before while some are good. The tofu, braised pork & long bean still taste as good. But unfortunately our visit wasn’t pleasant at all. It is clearly an indoor dining space and the diner sitting next to us kept smoking nonstop. Cigarette one after another when there is a big no smoking sign. He even drop the ashes on the floor & into the rubbish bin next to him. Speechless. The staff didn’t even bother to do anything to tell him. Perhaps, you guys can do something about it. Food is not bad but this experience puts me off from coming back.

Being patronising this shop at the old location for many years. Love the many side dishes that go well with the porridge, especially the potato in gravy and the pickle fried egg. We stop going when it closes down. It reopened at this location which is extremely difficult to find parking. Came back to check it out after running out of ideas where to have dinner. All the side dishes are still available but somehow the special taste is no longer there. Either too salty or too bland. Will not come back. Price is not cheap either. Even the beloved claypot chicken is tasteless.
