Yesterday which was Sunday, my sister n I went to this night market at about 5.30pm. It has been ages since we visited any pasar malam. This pasar malam is big n long. It stretches along both sides of the road parallel to Megah Rise. The 2 roads were closed to traffic due to the night market. I was really amazed at the great number of stalls there. N the huge range of food, drinks , vegetables , fruits n various snacks n other Knick knacks on sale here. It’s really mind boggling. It’s really a food paradise for any gourmet hunter. There are 2 nasi lemak stalls, mixed rice, Thai food cooked on the spot , stewed vinegar pork trotters, assam laksa, Chinese dim sum n dumplings n 2 stalls selling freshly roasted pork. There are also many stalls selling Western food such as French fries n sausages, smashed burger. The other food stalls sell various snacks such as fried popiah, fried golden sweet potato balls, fried economical noodles, mua chee, fried chempedak n apam balik. As a drinks , the stalls offer various types of cooling n refreshing drinks , herbal drinks n fruit juices. There are fruits galore. Imported fruits like apples n oranges n local fruits like guava , papaya n bananas. There are seasonal fruits like longan n durians too. There are sugar coated or candied fruits n preserved fruits like guava . There are stalls selling mostly fresh , locally grown vegetables. A stall is selling eggs n another is selling changs- Chinese steamed savory wrapped up sticky rice dumplings. A couple of stalls sell bread , pastries, cakes n Swiss rolls n biscuits. There are stalls selling ladies’ clothes- shorts n pants . Another stall is selling ladies’ hair accessories like hair pins n hair bands n other trinkets such as costume jewelery - fanciful bangles n rings. Lastly at the end of the row is a small stall that the owner can duplicate keys , access cards n remote controls. It suddenly started drizzling . So I bought RM 10 of fried chempedak n some vegetables - long beans n a petola costing RM 8 . We quickly left the place before the rain came pouring down. All the stall owners had to use large plastic sheets to cover their goods n food . The shoppers had to open their...
Read moreThis is a rather small Pasar Malam in comparison with the other nearby ones like SS2 and Chow Yang. However there are a couple of nice stalls worth trying out.
The first is a satay and lekor stall located somewhere in the middle. At just RM1 per stick, it is the cheapest satay I know of.
Also located nearby is a pork smashed burger stall. The patties are home made and the plain burger goes for RM8 but you can add cheese or double the patty.
There is a nasi lemak stall at the wet market end that is pretty popular with long queues.
I also like the Teluk Anson Chee Cheong Fun stall. These are not easy to find as the more common versions are the ones with yong tau fu or the Hong...
