There is a tour package including bird watching, firefly watching and blue tear catching for $150MYR per person. Not cheap though this is one of the main attractions in...
Read moreIt was a really memorable experience. From fireflies to eagle feeding to blue tears and sky mirror.
The tour group was popular and there was a lot of people queuing and waiting around. There is a toilet available at the venue before you board the boat.
We started with the eagle feeding and watching. It was quite a sight to behold. To see the eagles and other birds swarming and flying closely to the boats.
After dark we went to view fireflies up close, we saw quite a few fireflies in the bushes and they look at Christmas lights on a tree. Just remember to bring mosquito repellent as there are a lot of mosquitoes during the night. The second part we went to look for blue tears and we were give nets to catch blue-tears. This part wasn’t as impressive because we hardly saw any but it wasn’t a complete disappointment because we managed to catch a few.
The next morning we went for sky mirror, the weather was a little challenging so the boat was really rocky and scary but the boat steadies when the captain is constantly moving the boat.
When we finally landed and walked onto the little island to photograph the sky mirror photos, it was amazing. The entire mini island of sand makes me feel like we are in the middle of the ocean and we can see countless hermit crabs on the Sandy beach. The tour group took interesting and wonderful picture which made the experience...
Read moreWe went on the firefly tour and really enjoyed it. The life jackets they gave were clean and comfortable. The seats in the boat were bench style along both sides with a modest amount of padding. This was not terribly comfortable as you had to turn sideways to look out. They did not overcrowd the boat so it was reasonable to sit sideways. We started off right at dusk and had a nice cruise down the river for about 15 minutes where we stopped to see hundreds of beautiful white birds in some trees. The captain spent about 10 minute there making sure both sides of the boat had a photo opportunity. From there we continued on to the mangroves where the fireflies are and slowly cruised along the bank giving us adequate opportunity to enjoy the spectacle of it. There were more fireflies in one place than I have ever seen and it was very beautiful. There were however many mosquitoes and even though we were forewarned and put on spray we still did get a couple of bites and felt sorry for others who were constantly getting bit. I would highly...
