A Riverside Feast After Our Catch @Kinnaree Thai Restaurant, Kuala Selangor After a scenic boat trip, our organizer suggested we bring our fresh catch to a nearby restaurant to be cooked. . We picked Kinnaree Thai Restaurant—a spontaneous choice that turned out to be a pleasant surprise. . 🌟 Yes, it’s our first time here. . Here’s what we ordered: Our Catch – Thai Style (RM15 to cook our catch) The fish came buried under a vibrant layer of sliced mango, red onions, and crushed nuts. We had to gently scoop them aside just to see the fish! Deep fried and drizzled with a tangy Thai-style sauce—freshness meets flavor. A definite win. . Our Catch – Sweet & Sour Style (RM15 to cook our catch) Another take on the same fish, this version was equally delicious. Crispy, tangy, and addictive. We loved it. . Claypot Tofu (RM20) A generous portion, but lacked the oomph. It was the last dish we finished—probably says enough. . Stir-Fried Brinjal with Dried Shrimps (RM15) Surprisingly delightful. The brinjal was tender but retained its beautiful purple hue. A well-executed dish. . Stir-Fried Bean Sprouts with Salted Fish (RM13) A great pairing with rice. We usually go for kangkung belacan, but this new choice didn’t disappoint. . Drinks: Coconut Shake (RM8) – Sweet and indulgent, as expected with coconut water and vanilla ice cream. Pandan Serai Jar (RM8) – Refreshing, though we wish the pandan lemongrass flavor was more intense. Orange Juice Jar (RM18) – Less sweet, as requested. Thumbs up for accommodating preferences. . 🌿 Ambience & Service: Riverside setting = major vibes. The staff were friendly, attentive, and even helped take a family photo for us—a small gesture that made our visit more memorable. . 📍 Will we return? Probably not, since we’re not locals—but if we’re nearby again, it’s a strong maybe. . 🤝 Would we recommend? Yes! Especially if you enjoy good food with a view—hard to go wrong with that combo. . . Fresh catch, honest flavors, riverside charm—sometimes the best meals are the ones you didn’t plan for. Read moreAfter reading some reviews here, Our family decided to try it out. We were the only customers when we reached there for a late lunch. Couldn't get to sit at the table we wanted for a better view as someone lied to us it was booked. Not sure why we were not allowed to pick our table while a random customer just dropped in while we were having our meal and sat on the table that we wanted earlier.
Food is just okay, its overrated in our opinion, however the food portion and price is quite reasonable. The place and toilet are clean (rated 2 stars because of this)
A lady pulled a long black face when we proceeded to the cashier to pay the bill. Could be due to a dish that we cancelled. We pointed to the worker at the menu for the dish that we wanted but it came out wrong so it is not our problem.
Would I visit again? Definitely no, there are better places around that area with better food and...
Read moreVery fresh seafood and authentic Thai taste to the cooking. Nice ambience sitting by the river having lunch and enjoying the dinner. Staff are polite, gave very good recommendations including advising portions and foods served fast. I never like flower crabs because most of the time, those that I had in SG have very little meat. But the flower crabs here are meaty, firm texture and sweet. Must try butter prawns, pandan chicken and (三味) flower crabs. Will come again to this place with...
