Rasfannu — Attraction in Malé

Rasfannu, is a very pleasant place for everyone. The place is good for spending quality family time, or couple time. Order a party pizza 🍕 and enjoy the beautiful view of sunset. The place is crowded 50% of the time. So, I recommend you to go there on weekdays evening. There is a small shop where you can buy corndogs and ice corns 🍦. It is allowed as of today (August 18, 2018, week 33, Saturday) to fly drones over Rasfannu unlike other areas in Malé Maldives. There are traditional tents where you can get shade at noon. There is a pavilion at Rasfannu where Gloria jeans Cafe (and apparently Taco bell) is located. It is certainly a. Excellent place to go with family and friends (again). Fresh water(supply) Showers are available for people who are leaving the beach to wash out the salt. There is a jogging track at Rasfannu which people go for jogging regardless of the time of day. This is a very long (just not the longest) track that stretches from Rasfannu to the Tsunami Monument next to IGMH 25 floor hospital 🏨. (I'm telling you because I consider this track as a part of Rasfannu). I hope you have a great time here at...

So this place is a great idea... could be great for kids and families.

Unfortunately showers are already broken. The 2 inlets for sea water are busted. And worse the tracks deepest parts are full of sunken plastic bottles.

I can only blame the locals.

Example... was swimming there the other day with the kids.. saw some guys with their kids or grandchildren and some bottles floating next to them.. they did nothing to pick them up. So with my kids we seem over and picked up the garbage. At that point one of the guys said how terrible people throw their garbage into the water.

I asked him why he didn't pick it up. If everyone does a part... he just looked at us as if we had fallen on our heads.

And that it's the issue.. they like pristine beaches and crystal clear water but are too lazy and too lethargic to do...

A calm and quite place very close to the Villingili Ferry Terminal. Also has a small artificial beach that's a spot for families to chill during the weekends. Best part of this spot is the views from here and also the Gloria Jeans Coffees and the Moti Mahal restaurant that are in the same building.

Definitely try the Mochas at Gloria Jeans Coffees and also don't miss the ocean view from top of this spot. The beach water is bloody clean and is a nice place to spend time by yourself. Getting a taxi is also not a hassle at all from here. Also, I highly recommend walking down the lanes if you are going...
