This is the last time we will buy any products from Sea Gear. It's a shame because they have really nice products but the service is really bad. It all started with a birthday present I got from my girlfriend last September. She specifically asked for a wireless transmitter for my Suunto D4i dive computer, but in stead she got the one for a different type (Tank Pod) and even some crusial parts were missing. After we came back to switch the transmitter, there was an issue with the invoice. They told us that we would get some money back, but couldn't give it right away because the month needed to be closed first or something. So we left our contact details so that they could contact us when everything was settled.
A few weeks later, after we heard nothing, we decited to contact them again to ask what is up. We would get a call back on the same day, but this never happend. A few days later we went by the store ourself to ask again what happend to the money that we would get back and than we got a phonecall in the store that they tried to call us before because they made a mistake. We left there two different phone numbers but never received and calls, so that was strange. Now they are telling us that the one transmitter we had was actually cheaper than the one we got now and because they made this mistake we wouldn't have to pay the difference. We told them that this isn't true because almost every website we found said that it was the other way around, including the official website of Suunto itself. They didn't agree and we couldn't do anything about it.
Also there was a new problem, because the new transmitter wasn't connecting properly. In total it worked for maybe one or two dives and after, it started to loose signal after 10 minutes every dive. Sea Gear again promised to replace the battery for free, but the same day we got a phone call to say they don't have the battery and it would take about 11 days to order it. We decited to wait one last time, but after not hearing anything about 3 weeks later we called again. This time they told us the battery still wasn't there and it was probably going to take up to 2 months. Because I still can't use my transmitter, I waited another 2 months. But 2 months later (never any news from their side) I decited to call one last time. This time they told me, 2 more weeks. This was the last straw for us and we asked for our non-functioning transmitter back. We don't want to wait again so long to maybe hear something else went wrong. So we called Sea Gear and told then we wanted to pick up the transmitter the next day. They told us we could just pick it up in the store, but apperantly nobody in the store knew about this and nobody could find the transmitter. Finally the manager showed up and gave me the transmitter back without a battery change.
Now the worst part is that he didn't even say anything about it, no sorry, nothing! Just a "here you go" and he was off. This is the worst service we ever witnessed and we will never come back to Sea Gear again. We will also advice our collegues not to do any business...
