Follow Me To Maldives — Local services in Malé

We booked this 3-hour walking tour of Malé without knowing exactly what to expect, but we were very happy with the outcome. Our tour guide Jailey was awesome and knowledgeable about Malé / Maldives. We visted different historical sites, the market and souvenir shops. A great part of the tour was that it happened on Victory Day so we got to see the preparation for their big celebration happening later that evening. The military personnel were everywhere and so were the people of Malé getting ready. What a beautiful sight. Our tour guide made sure whatever we needed we got. He bought us water, paid for the ferry to Malé and the taxi ride from Malé. He even took us to buy souvenirs and waited patiently until we were done in one shop to move to the next. I was looking for a particular "Maldives tote" bag and he went to other stores himself to take pictures of their bags for me while we shopped in another store. We even got to see the sting rays during feeding time. This was a wonderful experience and tour that we would do again....

We had a long layover at Malé airport after our resort stay, and Naif from "Follow me to Maldives" turned a boring wait into a fantastic and memorable tour! He was incredibly polite, knowledgeable, and funny, giving us a perfect sense of how locals live.

He showed us the best parts of the city, from the impressive monuments and beautiful sea to the bustling local food market and the port full of stingrays. The highlight of the entire tour was when he even went home and brought his own parrot for us to meet! It was such a unique and personal touch. At the end, I wanted to try some dry fish but didn't have any cash, so Naif generously bought a pack for me.

The service didn't end there! On the way back to the airport, he helped us with our luggage and check-in. Thanks to his connections, we even got priority access at passport control. Naif truly treated us like VIPs, making our departure completely stress-free.

Jobe was an incredible guide during my time in Malé and Hulhumalé, due to my speedboat dropping me off hours and hours before my flight departure I needed to find something to do - in comes Jobe. He spent around 3 hours showing me the sights, sharing interesting history, and taking me to both islands and also taking photos so I could remember my day and the sights of Malé. Beyond the tour, he was so kind—hanging out for a few more hours which was much better than simply hanging around the airport, he also treated me to Maldivian snacks, arranging taxis for a better price, and even helping me with airport check-in. His generosity and friendly nature made the day special.
