Balneario Municipal El Aserradero — Attraction in Bacalar

This is not a large enough public space for enjoying the lake. If you want a place to leave your things and swim, there is not a formal facility apart from the boat rental people’s space. There are a few benches and some shade to sit around, but not much else for access. The boat and kayak providers there will offer you access to their clothing changing area with a rental. All round great experience at this swimming spot! It’s peaceful and open from 6am so yiu can go early and see the sun rising. Only downside is you aren’t allowed to take food onto the pontoon, but there was some confusion over this as some people had taken food on there and it was fine. We had some crisps confiscated from us and told we could collect them when we left but they were eaten by the person on the desk! 😅 Despite this we loved this spot and came almost every day we were in Bacalar....

Its ok but to be honest, Cancun has better beach. 7 colours you can see only with boat trip-smaller boat 300 and bigger 450 peesos per pax and there is plenty of them. Pool is not working on the public so called beach and there is no chairs or umbrellas on the public place. Also entrance of Caleon Pirata is overpriced. On the spot it is 450 peesos per person.
