Best Meal in Bacalar: Amazing fresh seafood.

Highly rated and always packed with locals. Only open until early evening.

We were welcomed by nice service, mostly Spanish-speaking, with a menu in Spanish.

We tried the recommended fresh baked fish (cornflour batter) and ceviche (fish). The portions were huge—the small ceviche was plenty for two, and the large on other tables looked massive!

The fish was fresh with a light, tasty batter. The ceviche was amazing, with onion and lime perfectly complementing the clean fish taste. We also had guacamole, which was nice and chunky, not pureed.

A complimentary tomato-based soup to start was lovely, light, and palate-preparing.

We topped off the meal with a huge, crisp piña colada. Lots of local beer to choose from.

We ordered limonada, ceviche grande, y guacamole. Everything tasted good, the guacamole was flavorful, and the ceviche had a LOT of shrimp. This was a good meal for our family of five. The server was not friendly, and inattentive. It took a lot of effort to flag her down or get basic items. She also discouraged us from getting augachiles, the reason we came, bc it took 30 minutes to make, but the ceviche took 40. The chips were stale and half of the basket was in small pieces. I came here because the lady from the Airbnb highly recommend them. She was not wrong!

I got the breaded fish filet, I was blown away how fresh it was. Everything came out nice and hot the way I like it. They gave me some tortillas so I made three tacos. I got a cucumber limeade, it was so good I had to get another one. Loved the salsas, habanero was my favorite. Only thing that I didn’t really like was the rice. Loved the plantain though.
