Mi Burrito Bacalar — Restaurant in Bacalar

Saw this place aired on Jinny's Kitchen on Amazon Prime. It's a reality program about Korean street food served by actors (one of them was in the movie Parasite) and a singer (V from BTS) interacting with locals and tourists in Bacalar Mexico. In one of the episode, the cast members gave high praises on Mi Burrito Bacalar.

To make a long story short, our family ended up vacationing in Bacalar and had to try their burrito. And they were even better than what I imagined. The atmosphere was very cozy and the owner welcomed us with a big smile. Very casual and open dinning atmosphere. They had 6-7 different grades of hot sauces and a wide variety of selections on typo of burritos you can customize. We had chicken with avocado, beef with chorizo and avocado, shrimp with chorizo. My teenaged sons raved that they were the best burritos they ever had and I agreed. They were tasty with generous portions. We may have to come back here before we head out to Tulum. :)

Update: On our last day at Bacalar, we stopped by Mi Burrito Bacalar once again and ordered the same burritos for lunch before heading out to Tulum. And as expected, they were as good as the first time! We are now back home in Washington DC watching the last episode of Jinny's Kitchen and already missing our trip to Bacalar. We loved this place. Great food and great service. We came here as a family with the kids. Immediately we felt welcome and the team explained the menu and options. My daughter has a nut allergy and I was nervous with nuts on the menu, but we explained and it was no problem. The burritos were freshly made and delicious. The burritos are so filling the kids struggled to eat a whole one. They come in halves so I'd get them to share if we go back. The drinks were also great, my husband tried the beer with added chilli which he loved. It's also great to see natural wrapping using banana leaf and not plastic. It's set in a lovely shaded area. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.
