"You deserve more for your money" - Trust on me I feel like the museum don't really gives to the people what they paid for. Saddly the museum have been like this "forever", not even a single change, and they are really charging so much now.- The things that you see inside are poor, not well explained and not attractive.- If you are curious, you will discover that there is like a 70% or 65% of things that are not working anymore (TVs and Screens with info are not working, some buttons that supposed to be pressed to show you information)... and the list keep growing ... I live in Bacalar, and as a local, I recommend you more to go to HOTEL LAGUNA instead of the Museum, the view are so much better, and people deserves to get more for...
Read moreLots of plaques and information but it needs to be given some attention as the information plaques were peeling and falling apart, a few were hard or impossibleto read. The museum has an excellent timeline for the history of human habitation in Yucatan and covered a lot of topics from Mayan culture to colonisation and pirates. There's actually a human skeleton visible under the glass floor of the museum, no information was available. Interesting but sad place. No refreshments but the cafe's nearby are excellent, and watch out for iguanas...

Well laid out grounds, with story boards along the way, providing the needed historical information to provide you with an in depth look back in time.
