Some of the sellers were friendly, but unfortunately, the other reviews were right—most of the vendors aggressively try to pull you into their stores, and it quickly becomes uncomfortable.

The worst experience we had was at a store called “Isma.” The male vendors there were extremely rude and pushy. They wouldn’t let us leave until we agreed to buy something. After we agreed on a price, they added an extra $60 to the bill after swiping my mom’s card, claiming it was a "transfer fee" for converting pesos to US dollars. That was clearly false—I made a separate purchase at another vendor, and the actual transfer fee was only $3.

When we went back to confront them, the man became defensive and argumentative. Instead of refunding the money, he just gave us another shirt as a way to “make it better.”

Overall, I strongly do not recommend shopping here, especially if you don’t speak Spanish. We do speak Spanish, and we still got scammed. While there are a few kind vendors around, they’re rare—and the risk of being pressured and overcharged, is just...

Tourist trap and a real turnoff, as the prices are double or more, the people rude and the place is a dump. I understand it must be high rent, but NOPE, not going there again for anything. My daughter wanted a full sleeve henna tattoo and it was a joke. The price the guy quoted was ridiculous and almost triple what she could get on the beach in Playa, the attention to detail was pathetic and the product wasn't good and didn't look refined. He said it would take 45 minutes, he was done in 10 and wanted the same price for what she could have done with an eyeliner, herself. It was a sloppy ugly mess and nothing like what was shown and discussed before the art. There were 2 French Canadians who got tattoos and they had to run around to get more money to pay, as the quote changed after their tattoos. I felt sorry for them, as they felt threatened and went for the money dissatisfied with the people and experience more than the tattoos. I loathe that place and think they are threatening and dishonest. Highly recommend going elsewhere...

Avoid this place. They scammed us - grabbed our credit card out of our hand before they told us the price, charged the card. We didn’t find out the cost until we asked for the receipt that showed $150 USD and we were shocked. We told them no, refund us as we didn’t agree to that price and they refused. They only offered to give us half back (so $75) for their knock off glasses. We said no, refund our money we don’t want and they refused. I recorded the discussion on video and we told him we dispute the charge with our credit card company as fraud.

Whatever you do, watch yourself if you come here. Them trying to haggle after they charged our card without authorization is not okay, and even worse to refuse to credit us. At first he said he didn’t have enough pesos to refund it. We suggested he credit us back as we paid with credit. He said he couldn’t, and that’s when he suggested he give us half back. We walked out, letting him know he’d get nothing once we...

Awesome market! I was able to get my engagement ring resized here in 30 minutes for 30 dollars. They did an amazing job and gave me the leftover piece of gold. Bought some cigars and tshirts from another vendor who is of Mayan heritage and went into great detail with sharing the story and history behind the designs of the Mayan art on the shirts we purchased. Incredible. Explained a ton about cigars and the do’s/don’ts with certain brands. The same dealer then escorted us to the taco vendor that “only they go to”, located tucked away behind the Mercado. They take any form of payment. Tacos were great! Beef and cheese empanada was my favorite - SO good. We also ordered horchata and pina fresca - very good and massive size. The tacos were just OK - we ordered el pastor and steak. Not much flavor on either taco and the el pastor had zero pineapple. They were edible but disappointing. Paid $20 USD for our entire meal so it was a great value!

This is the cute Little handicraft market in hotel zone Cancun. It’s a perfect place to buy some gifts for friends and family. Don’t forget to bargain, the prices are flexible. Most of the stuff here , in most of the shops are knickknacks imported from China. But if you look carefully and ask shopkeepers, there are a few shops that sell genuine made in Mexico handicrafts. I bought a pair of leather slippers which were made in Mexico by hand and they look beautiful. I paid 60% to 70% of the asking price. Don’t buy overpriced poor quality Mexico Cancun T-shirts or clothes in this market. There is a proper shop right next to Congo bar where you can get actually good quality stuff at great prices.
