Paradise Beachfront & Nightlife Heart — Local services in Cancún

I stayed in room 304B and was unfortunately disappointed.

PROS: The room does have a beautiful view of the beachfront. Location is great. You’re steps away from the best part of the hotel zone in my opinion.

The staff were always friendly and accommodating. They also provide beach towels at the front desk (limit one fresh towel per person per day).

CONS: It’s not a hotel, but a company renting rooms from a condominium. Entrance is hard to find, so read the email! If you make taxi arrangements from the airport, none of the taxi websites recognize Paradise Beachfront and Nightlife Heart as a destination and the drivers don’t know where that is. You need to say Salvia Condominiums.

I had to go downstairs twice to let them know there was no hot water in the shower. They fixed this. It’s a beautiful view, but the air conditioner BARELY works so I had to keep the curtains closed and the bathroom door closed during the day.

The “king bed” is two twin-sized beds pushed together. No blanket at all, just a sheet on the bed (not kidding). Not comfortable.

Some of the items in the room were in my opinion just props. For example, there’s a small coffee maker, but no coffee or filters. I had to go and buy coffee filters and ground coffee. Then I realized the pot was replaced with a different brand and doesn’t fit quite right. The phone was dead. I checked and it had no cable to the wall.

They don’t have hotel amenities such as ice, neither in the room nor lobby.

They do not provide toiletries in the bathroom (ie lotion, shampoo), only bar soap. I had to go out and buy that also after checking in.

Towels were very old (see picture). Additionally, there’s a notice in the room saying if you damage any towels you will be charged. I’m thinking, okay.

And finally, after the first day, ants started showing up in the room. Not a lot, just 5 or 6 whenever you looked.

The front desk was great. They were communicative and helpful, since we wanted to keep our bags as we were heading out to a different place. They let us keep bags before checking in. The stay on the contrary was bad. It is an apartment in a building named Salvia apartments. The room was good size but the amenities were bad. The mattress was dusty and the room had a sticky floor, the night lights in the room did not work. We had a water clogging problem in both washbasin and bathroom, we complained about the same but had no response whatsoever. Imagine standing in the shower and your feet submerged in the soap water because the bathroom has water clogging issues. Also they did not provide us with toiletries. For any normal stay these are the expected aspects but those were missing here. Overall yes it has a good view and the location is right next to the nightlife in main center area but the cleanliness was a big disaster, especially with COVID when this...

It really smells bad like mildew and urine. A staff member there was so determined to sell us a timeshare and went out of his way to make things difficult for us. He took one of our receipts from a tour that we had gotten and gave us a copy instead of the original end up losing 4,500 pesos in the results of that...... I'm so sorry it was at the Fives hotel in playas de Carmen ....we did stay there at Salvia under my wife's name and this one was super nice !!!! Once again I'm sorry...
