I'd love to write more, but it will have to wait for a WiFi connection that doesn't take minutes to load the Google maps contributions page. UPDATE: If you are considering a reservation with Salvia Cancun, there are a few things you should know:
PROs: Location. IF you want to be close to the nightclubs this is the place for you. If you are traveling with family, stay somewhere else. The grocery store and meeting place for tours was within easy walking distance but you had to get through the time share and tour company reps to get there. We got good at smiling and walking. View. Very nice view of the ocean from the private balcony. Private Security. Very helpful, friendly. In fact, the only staff that engaged with us during our stay.
CONs: Location. A few hundred feet down the beach is an outdoor club that plays loud bass-heavy music starting at 10 am and going through the night. Even with doors and windows closed, it's hard to ignore and it vibrates through the floor. On Tuesday nights, it's even louder and goes until 4 a.m. Rooms. Read the description carefully. Our 2 bedroom condo turned out to be a 2-bed room. We made reservations for 4 people but were allowed only 2 beach towels. The kitchen was empty. In one drawer we found a meat cleaver and some silverware; forks and spoons. A few plates and glasses. There was a cooktop and microwave but no oven. Staff. Abrupt, impatient, borderline rude. The front desk gave the impression we were an imposition with big sighs and rolling eyes. One night the air conditioner leaked on the beds, soaked through blankets and sheets. Thankfully the mattresses had plastic covers. Maintenance came right away and on the second visit fixed the leak. Apparently housekeeping leaves at 5 pm so we were handed 4 flat sheets, no mattress pads or blankets. We were there for 8 days, our room was cleaned once. I exchanged bath towels at the front desk every other day. No washcloths. The shower head sprayed so many directions it soaked the ceiling, walls and floors. A small aggravation to mop up after each use. One more thing: When you leave, the staff has to check your room before giving the security guards permission to open the gate for the airport shuttle van. The morning we left it was 3 a.m. and we were the only family leaving so it took only a few minutes but it's important to build time in for that and still make it to the airport on time.
Bottom line: If you want to drink and stay up all night, the Salvia is fine but if you want to vacation with your family, stay...

I recently stayed at Salvia Cancún Aparts for two nights, and it was the worst hotel experience I have ever had.
On the first day, the electricity went out for five hours in the middle of the day. The staff told us that we would be refunded for breakfast as compensation, but when we went to breakfast the next morning, we were told that we had to pay.
The room was also never cleaned during our stay. When we asked the staff to clean the room, they said that they were too busy.
The service was also very bad. The staff were rude and unhelpful. When we asked for help with something, they would often just ignore us.
Overall, I would not recommend Salvia Cancún Aparts to anyone. It is a dirty, poorly managed hotel with bad service.
Here are some additional details about my experience:
The electricity went out at around 10am and didn't come back on until around 3pm. During that time, we couldn't use the air conditioning, the lights, or the TV. It was very hot and uncomfortable in the room. When we went to breakfast the next morning, we told the staff that we had been promised a refund. They said that they had no record of this and that we would have to pay. We argued with them for a while, but they eventually agreed to give us a discount. The room was not cleaned at all during our stay. We had to ask the staff for towels and toilet paper on several occasions. The staff were rude and unhelpful. When we asked for help with something, they would often just ignore us. For example, we asked the front desk to help us book a taxi, but they just told us to call a taxi ourselves.
I would strongly advise anyone considering staying at Salvia Cancún Aparts to reconsider. There are much better...
Read moreRoom was dated and not as the pictures on the booking showed. The balcony was small compared to the pictures showed when I booked my stay. The view was Amazing from the room and the balcony. The sun rise is viewable from the balcony. The reasons the rating of this apartment PH2a was only a 3 star is that one of the braces for the stairs from second level was detached making the stairs scary. The kitchen only had a 2 drinking glasses and no wine glasses. The refrigerator is dorm size and was not able to hold many groceries. No oven or dishwasher available in the apartment. No ice at the facility so we had to buy a cooler and walk over to the 7 eleven and buy ice every morning. The freezer was too small to put more than a couple of items. The pool is on the road side with no beach view and the pool bar was cash only and not accessible from the beach. Most days beach towels were available but on Friday we went back three different times and in the entire day was unable to get towels. The room did have two beach chairs and 3 umbrellas. These were very nice to have. Trash can in room was small and no additional trash bags were available. The cleaning service was excellent and nice to have. The location is very close to the grocery store and restaurant. Cancun Gelato was one of our kids favorite treats. The apartments are ocean front on a beautiful beach. The down side is it is basically Nextdoor to major night clubs. Coco bongos base played extremely loud until 4 in the morning most nights. So if you want a quiet night sleep...
