Although the food was pretty good, our experience was unpleasant. Our waiter was constantly forgetting our table and was not bringing out orders in a timely manner. But the most disturbing fact was our server self-added a 20%+ tip and lied about the check total. The total was actually closer to $107 usd, but the waiter said our total was $151. My wife inquired and in the moment he bluffed and said he had already checked the total and to trust him. It turns out he had added a large (in excess of 20%) tip without even asking and said that we had already consented to 15%. My wife called his bluff, and he continued to make excuses. As we were at a birthday party for family we left him with a stern warning about not trying to rip off tourists (my wife was the lone spanish speaker in our group), and later called another nearby location to report the issue as this location would not take our calls. Good food, piss poor service from a shady employee. We added this review because we couldn't help but wonder if he did this to other customers. Check your receipts. The nearby location next to Ripley's...

We decided to stop in for dinner last night at this local restaurant, rather than dining at our hotel facility. It's located at the main street and it's easy to navigate to with the use of our GPS device. Upon entering we were greeted by Jorge, who was also our waiter. He was very friendly and professional during our dining experience.
The menu is online and the restaurant has wifi (code: TACOS123) for international travelers who's cell phones don't have any signal in Mexico. The food was seasoned very well and came out very fast. Everything we ordered tasted amazing and excellent!!!
The drinks was just average and kind of watered-down. The beers are just in regular bottles, but overpriced consider there is a local market right next door. So we had to knock them a star for their drinks and drink pricing, because it's obvious that they are making money on the drinks in a party area such as Cancun, Mexico.
Overall...we did enjoy our dinner and felt like the overall price was affordable considering the...
Read moreGustavo took great care of us tonight. He was very friendly, answered questions, and checked on us often. We ordered a variety of tacos, volcanes, and guacamoladas. We also tried all 4 desserts. MEAT: The Baja fish taco was outstanding. The smoked chop volcanes were also a huge hit. The chorizo and chicken breast were flavorful. The ribeye was tender. The accoutrements they serve with the tacos we're great. Very flavorful. There was a salsa for every kind of meat. DESSERT: The flan was our favorite, followed by the lemon pie/pudding. The churros were also tasty. We did not like the fried banana. Not even a little... it didn't taste ripe, no sweetness, and had a strange aftertaste (almost like a vegetable).
For reviewers saying the meat isn't seasoned, we disagree. We enjoyed our meal so much, we intend to visit again before we leave. They even sell meat by kg. Great for take away and to cook the next day...
