My friend and I spent one full day on Isla Mujeres and opted to head to Garrafon Park for the day. It was $1,000 MXN each and we got around 5 hours at the park. Incl were meals (buffet from any of the restaurants - all the restaurants offered the same food anyways), unlimited rides on the zipline, snorkeling, kayaking and standup boarding. Pros: The location is INSANE. It’s beautiful! Very well Maintained and clean. We were there on a Saturday during end September and it was the perfect amount of people. Didn’t feel like a child’s park. The zipline was fun, with 3/4 slides. Friendly staff! The buffet offered great and tasty food and was available till about 4:30. Drinks were included and we could get pretty much what we wanted. Cons: The snorkeling 🤿 was too controlled with only a small portion of the ocean open for us to snorkel inside. There was nothing to see hahaha! We expected to see an array of beautiful ocean life but no, maybe one little school of basic fish but that’s it. I actually got bored I started doing my own synchronized swimming to keep myself entertained in the water. The standup board was also unavailable for us to use which I was disappointed about since I was super keen to use it. When my friend and I then went for the kayaking and attempted to one by one dip into the water to freshen up, we got told off and instructed back into the kayak. That didn’t make any sense to me. Other than a few glitches and the stingy staff member who wouldn’t let me finish dishing up my last plate of food once the clock hit 16:31, everything was great and I’d probably return!

This is a rip-off and a scam. I visited today based on their website advertising that you could swim/snorkel a coral reef. You are not allowed to actually do that. They intentionally lie to get guests. I requested a partial refund and they refused. I was extremely kind and courteous when I filed this complaint. I spoke with a manager, Ricardo. I asked him for a partial refund because there was no coral reef to view during snorkeling. He told me we do not advertise that you can do so. I anticipated this and showed him the images that I have attached here. They have multiple images of people swimming in close proximity to the reef. They also say, “you will be able to swim around the entire reef”. Despite showing him this proof he refused to give me even a partial refund after his associate Oscar lied and said that he showed me some sort of information that said I cannot swim with the reef. I have also attached the information that was provided. He then told me to write a formal complaint on a provided form. I did so. He told me that he needed it to make “the company better”. I told him my consulting services in this matter came to $98. He didn’t like my joke. I told him again, you want me to pay you $100 for your lies. He still upheld that they were not lying. I submit the images attached for you to evaluate. Oscar did nothing but try and up sell me to their VIP package and explained that I could snorkel, zip line, eat, etc. I thanked them for their time, left, and stopped a four folks outside who were about to go in and told them that there was no snorkeling at the coral reef and they left. Oscar, Ricardo, you could have refunded me $98 and I would of kept quiet, but here you go, Amigos. You thought you would call my bluff. Mistake. You’re down $392 already.

There are a lot of positive and negative reviews that I see. Unfortunately, mine is closer to that of FL MamaBear Xi. We purchased VIP tickets which included drinks & food and a VIP area.. i don't like to drink when I'm out swimming snorkeling so there's that. The food was mostly bad 3/10. Don't take my word for it. I've taken pictures. More about the food below. No service attention in VIP area. The Park states they offer snorkeling of the reef.. No they don’t the reef was roped off as was your snorkeling area.. you may have a few hundred yards to snorkel and it's crowded often. However they do provide snorkeling gear which was nice. The Park states they offer Kayaking .. they did not allow us to kayak or waterboard although the water was relatively calm. The park offers a VIP SWIMMING AREA.. the water was nice and warm. 3 mini small jacuzzi. Each big enough to fit a couple. The park offers a ZIPLINE.. which was mild and chill. I just wish there was more water options like the beach, Open water snorkeling and Open water diving. It's a park you can go to once and be content. Hot dogs were cheap and I wish I hadn't eaten it as it made me a bit nauseous. Quesadilla was decent and so were the nachos. Vip buffet - food was a joke the "chefs" need better training. Paella rice had way too much water, and ended up like rice pudding and also little flavor. The sushi roll-- whoever prepared it should be ashamed of themselves. Better just leave it out of the menu. The pasta pesto was decent. The fish was decent but overly salted. Overall I think they need to hire a real chef that knows how to prepare food and train the other cooks. There's much room for improvement.

For the most part it was a great time but the attitude of some of the staff members leaves a lot of doubts for me and my family. Specifically the zip line staff was very rude, My and my friends were having a painful experience in the first line and when we told the staff in the 2nd and 3 tower they did nothing to help out and push us to jump without adjusting the ropes. 2 of my friends end up with serious marks in the back. All this could be avoid if they have a little bit of attention to us. We had the VIP pass which it included the upgraded food. It was nice and the staff on the buffet was very lovely, I also did the Temazcal and my and my wife found it divine. Such a great experience, I wish it could go longer than half hour. It felt very rushed. I feel if this activity can have more time it would have made my experience more wholesome. The snorkeling and canoe activities were pretty good all though the staff there wasn’t very helpful and the seat and the kayak broke my friends wife bikini because,the seat it was broken already. Not very safe. The bar staff in the eating areas were prime and they deserve Avery dollar you can tip but the bartenders on the central bar (the one with the swings) were very rude and grunt when ask for a piña colada or even a beer, even though I tip them every time I went for a beverage. I was very weird to head back to a different area when we toke the first boat. I hope they can fix that in the future. I hope they can fix those rough patches for my visit next time.

Don't expect to eat/drink here and have a good time. Just do the activities and leave. The good: only $49 USD for VIP pass to get unlimited snorkeling, ziplining (and usually other activities but water was too choppy so paddle boarding and kayaking were closed when we went). This seemed like a good value for the activities. We enjoyed the Mayan ceremony too. The bad: The $49 is supposed to also get you open bar and food covered. We figured there would be a catch and we were right. There is nothing special about "VIP" which is only $2 more than general admission. The drinks (we had margaritas and daiquiris) are atrocious as they use a fake-tasting sugar/coloring which is probably a pre-mix. Coming from Texas we know what margs should taste like. The staff either doesn't seem to know what a good margarita is, or they don't have the right ingredients on hand or they don't care. I would so much rather pay more for VIP just for the possibility of getting a good margarita with fresh ingredients but that is not an option. The fresh cantaloupe and honey dew melon was the only good food. All else looked like reheated frozen food. We later had good margaritas and tacos at Lola Valentina on the north end of the island.

The food was disgusting and unable to be eaten. The VIP area? Still trying to figure out where that was.. The Park states they offer snorkeling of the reef.. No they don’t the reef was roped off as was your snorkeling area.. you may have a few hundred yards to snorkel which being from Florida was BUNK!! The Park states they offer Kayaking .. they did not allow us to kayak although the water was calm. The park offers a VIP SWIMMING AREA.. which the water looked stagnant and cloudy .. filled with little kids. The park offers a ZIPLINE.. which was the most Uneventful zipline in the world! This park was a complete waste of time for my teenage kids the beaches were roped off, too many rules, unable to drink or eat anything and unable to snorkel the reef .. if you have teenage kids.. your better off just heading to the island go shopping and rent a golf cart .. don’t waste your money
