Description

The Galería de Arte Mexicano was founded by Carolina in 1935 and directed by Inés Amor, her sister from 1936 until the 80's, in Mexico City and has been the first gallery of Mexican art. The gallery building was the first building in Mexico of Andrés Casillas de Alba.

Primera galería de la Ciudad de México, fundada en 1935. Aquí se han expuesto las obras de pintores icónicos como Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, Miguel Covarrubias, José Clemente Orozco y Rufino Tamayo, así como el trabajo de artistas de vanguardia.

Ahora, las tres salas de exposición se adecuan al trabajo de cada artista. Se crean paredes adicionales, cambian el color de blanco al negro y hasta usan de latas de té para la iluminación, según el concepto de la muestra.
