The Old Mill Restaurant & Café — Restaurant in Fez

Dissappointing food and service. The three of us ordered the meal which included a salad, a main and dessert. We asked if they did a vegetarian pastilla before entering the restaurant, and were told there was. Upon ordering we were told it was sold out, so instead my friend and I ordered spring rolls, which we were told were filled with cheese and vegetables. Once we received our meals and had eaten some, we realised the spring rolls had chicken in them. When we questioned this, we were told "chicken is not meat", even though he had only stated the filling was vegetables and cheese. After a bit of back and forth, we were offered falafel instead, however by this stage my friend didn't want anything so only I asked for the falafel. The waiter then brought out two serves of falafels and charged us for both. Wouldn't recommend coming here as there are lots more amazing...

We came to this place because it had nice reviews and it was right next to the blue gate with a rooftop terrace thinking we’d get a nice dinner with a view.

When we came we were the only ones at the restaurant and ordered a main meal and drinks. Three guys (separately, presumably waitors) came and asked us if we already ordered and we always said yes (because we actually did). The drinks came after a while, that was okay. But we waited for the meal for an hour. When we lost our patience we went down and asked them about our order but the whole staff was just watching a football match and hadn’t even started cooking. 🫠

The BEST PLACE where to eat in all Fes! It’ incredible how you can pay only 80DHR (also with credit card) for the complete menu and the food is so delicious and huge portion! The best chicken cous cous, tajini and mint tea I’ve ever eaten in my life (and I’m Italian, super demanding on food then 😄). The service is amazing because the people are lovely, mostly Hamza, Nour and the cooker: a big hug to them. I came here every day for all my time in Fes.
