Hotel Fontaine Campini — Hotel in Fez

We only liked the breakfast and the location (with safe street parking outside) of the hostel (cannot be called hotel). It is located right next to Royal palace, Maroc Telecom agency and the main entrance of the Medina.|Communication before check-in is non-existent. Their number listed in Booking does not exist (I tried to ring a few times). No WhatsApp, they only answered the booking.com messages (after many were sent) with a monosyllabic useless answer a few days before arrival. I wanted to know if I could pay in EUR and only discovered I could at check-in.|The family room and very basic toilet are very smelly with sheets, blankets and cushions obviously not cleaned (and this is in cold late December). Pros. - very close to old city. Walking distance. Quite and peaceful. Nice friendly staff. Beautiful traditional moroccon deco. Lovely middle rooms space to relax of you come as a big group Has a number of different size rooms for different needs. Perfect 1 star cheap hotel if thats what your after.

Cons - I can imagine this was beautiful when it was first built, but now a very run down shabby hotel. Bed sheets seem clean but old style morrocon blankets and pillow cases doesnt get washed between guests. So you'll be sleeping in someone else's sweat. Breakfast prepared in a very filthy kitchen. Owner really needs to pull their socks up and revamp this place from scratch as it could be a hidden gem. For now I would avoid another visit, 2 nights was more then enough to...

I’m writing to warn future guests: my stay at this hotel was very poor. Specific problems:

Cleanliness: The sheets and pillowcases were stained, towels smelled and were not changed. The bathroom had hair and soap scum on the floor and fixtures.

Hygiene: Surfaces (table, nightstand, TV remote) were dusty and sticky. The room smelled musty. Service: When I reported these issues to reception they did not fix the room or offer a suitable solution in a timely manner.

Value: For the price I paid, this was unacceptable. I have photos and receipts. I asked for a refund/room change and the hotel’s response was unsatisfactory. Based on my experience I cannot...
