Excellent service from Ayman and another fellow whose name we didn’t catch. Both were very funny and easy to talk to. They both gave us a great break from the typical treatment that tourists receive in the Medina. Reminded us of being back home in Montreal :)
This place is great if you’re craving a non-Moroccan meal, but nevertheless the traditional Moroccan plates were wonderful. We ordered the lamb tagine with prunes, pumpkin soup, and the beef burger. The tagine was one of the best we’ve had, and the other meals were excellent as well. I loved the date milkshake- not too sweet but sweet enough.
The ambience was lovely and very modern with soft jazz playing in the background. There are chess boards available if you’re into that, and we had some great exchanges with one of our servers Ayman about chess. We wish we could be there on a Saturday night with the live music -...
Read moreThis place is so wonderful and welcoming when it's nearly empty (I went at 12:30) that I can only imagine how fun it would be to go when it's filled with people and live music. Even as it was, it completely refreshed me after a very long morning walking through the medina. The mint lemonade is sooooo good and refreshing, and the falafel bowl made me feel like I finally got the vitamins and nutrients I'd been missing for the past few days. Absolutely top-notch freshness of all the ingredients, even the shredded carrots and cabbage, which is sometimes hard to pull off. I was dining alone, and Yassin, my server, was the perfect combo of attentive yet discreet while I was doing a bit of technical planning for my onward travels at my table. Absolutely fantastic all around, and if I were staying longer, I'd probably be in here every...
Read moreThis restaurant is best described as truly “Fez & Friends”. I was instantly welcomed by the staff and treated like family. They provided great food recommendations and how to eat the food. I ordered a the Lamb Tajine and it was such a great first impression of Moroccan food! Ingredients are fresh and cooked upon ordering. The lamb fell off the bone and so tasty with the bread that soaks up the juices! I loved it so much that I came every day I was in Fes! A special shout-out to Merieme for her kind hospitality for each day i spent at this restaurant! I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner Zak, super friendly and also owns a Riad on Airbnb called Cheerful 4- Bederoom Authentic home with patio! Truly a beautiful restaurant just outside of the touristy medina with great price to quality ratio! I highly recommend...
