Sanderburg or Sander's castle is the smallest of three castles in the capital (Windhoek) It was built between 1917 and 1919 by an architect called Wilhelm Sander. Mr Sander designed it as his own place of residence perched on the hills overlooking the city. Its architectural style combines several medieval features. The castle is privately owned and can only be viewed from the street or from the neighbouring Heinitzburg castle which is now a hotel.
