Windhoek City Museum is a gem with the superb organisation of this museum by Aaron Haufiku who was an excellent host during our visit. Lots to digest in terms of history and also present day issues around migration of labour and gender and other social constructs which affect labour in Namibia. Neighbouring African countries such as DCR, Botswana, Angola, Zimbabwe are some who migrate to Namibia for a better future with civil war etc in these countries. The recent census shows an increase in population of Namibia to over 3 million now. The grass is greener on the other side is a view held by some and what is frustrating is that even here in Canada, S Africa calls are free on my landline plan with Telus but Namibia is not.. hopefully to be rectified...
