Wilderness Namibia — Local services in Khomas

Our agent booked our 6 day trip to Namibia through Wilderness Safaris in Johannesburg. We paid nearly USD 1000 per night. With a reputed company one expects good service. Though the lodge was excellent, they have several issues that left a bitter taste to the entire experience. Flight from Windhoek to Kulala Desert lodge delayed because of Pilot shortage. When a booking is made wasn’t this checked? Kulala Safari vehicles are in poor condition. The vehicle got stuck in the sand and the 4WD failed to engage. The vehicles are old and need replacement. They had no extra vehicle as a replacement vehicle. There was no meet and greet service at Windhoek airport. Wilderness Safari booked our Sandwich Harbour tour through Namibian Tracks & Trails. They charged us ZAR6440 (actual amount being ZAR 1975 per person) for 3 people though we were only 2 as it was the minimum requirement. When one pays for 3 you don’t expect to be squeezed with 2 others in a jeep. When I spoke to the tour organizer, I was shocked to learn that though they take a booking for 3 they never charge for 3 unless they are short of the required number in the vehicle. Wasn’t Wilderness Safaris aware of the actual cost of the tour? I am surprised that they charged us this random amount. After paying so much to be cheated by Wilderness Safari of USD 150 is disappointing especially when they are a highly recommended company. Lastly, we were not given a schedule for pick-ups from our hotel at Swakopmund & we had to request the hotel to call Namibian Tracks & Trails each time to know & be ready in time for...

Our time with Namibia Wilderness was absolutely epic, and we owe a huge shoutout to Charles, our awesome guide! We booked through our travel agent and were so happy with the experience. The accommodations at all of our stops were wonderful and the staff provided top-notch service.

Our only regret is that we didn't go to the skeleton coast, but it only means that we will have to go back for a second trip and we would definitely return to do it with wilderness.
