Great boat rental for lovely summer day out on Amsterdam canals. Easy to navigate, doesn’t go too fast and the staff gives you a map with routes you can take. The staff could be a little more customer service oriented, especially in the Zuid location, but all in all we love Mokum Boat rental.

Edit: In regards to customer service, there’s very little information about toilets (for women), and when you’re pregnant and rent a boat for 4 hours, that becomes quite relevant. The time before last (rented from Zuid location) we enquired about toilets and mokum staff member was very unsympathetic, saying he has no idea and that he lives in Amsterdam so he uses the toilet at his own home (yeah, so do I when I’m not on the boat for 4 hours). We found this particular staff member very arrogant and not helpful. That said, all in all, it’s been hit and miss, some guys are really nice and some seem like they couldn’t be bothered...

Seeing reviews it seems like we were just unlucky with the guides. Extremely rude to some passengers not specifically to us but to another couple. The guys literally screamed “its not a request, just move” to a couple who came way before time so they could have a preferred seat which is totally normal as there are no reservations. Totally incompetent, they girl seemed more interested in drinking beer and chatting with colleagues. Tour was barely 50min way shorter than promoted. Half of the passengers couldnt even hear what the guides were murmuring. The staff being so passive none even bothered asking them to speak louder. God forbid there were no light shows to talk about, there would have been sound of crickets on the tour. Extremely incompetent and rude staff. Wouldn’t recomment to have a tour with those guides.
