A beautiful Gothic church that had once been the victim of WW2, having only left with it’s tower standing. The rest had to be built from scratch. Three iron stakes have been kept as a memory from the ruins and now being shown in shape of a cross, brilliant mind.
Besides all, I have one, which I believe to be major, note for the visitors. There are actually audio tour books (photo added) that you can borrow from reception. In my case, the lady at reception probably was just helping out her friends because when I asked about a audio tour, she said there ain’t any. After using my hilarious inspector skills, I found a booklet showing how to use the audio tour book and proved her that there must be. A minute later, I saw those black audio tour books standing on inner shelf of reception and got what I was looking for. You simply follow the tag numbers on wall and find the matching session in book. Alternatively you can listen to it, which I couldn’t beacuse you need a cable to connect audio tour with your headphone, so if you want to go for that option, you better bring your...
Read morePro: the view is amazing, you only have to climb 300 steps (aproximativ 10 min) to get on top, the guide that is waiting for you on the top of the church is amazing (Willem is the best ever), the tickets are cheap (3€ to visit the church and 7,5€ to visit the church + climb on top of it)
Cons: the lady at the ticket booth is not friendly because me and my friends bought 4 tickets. After paying the tickets, we asked for bathroom, she said that she will get our tickets when we go back. 5 minutes later, at the tickets booth were 20 people standing in line to get tickets, we asked for our own and she told us to wait until she gets the tickets to the other people. I am finding that not ok because we should’ve got the tickets before going to bathroom, in the first place, and second, we should’ve got our tickets when we came back, not to wait after all those people when we already waited in line once.
Also, if you are claustrophobic, you should avoid the view on the church because the way to the top is...
Read moreChurch itself is nice, however concerts in this place is a rip-off. Be careful! They charge almost twice as much before event, and dropp the price in the day of the concert. So if you consider to buy ticket, do it just on the same day. And don't worry about availability, they just simply add extra chairs at the end of the church so concerts are not exclusive there , even price may suggest otherwise. Acoustic in this charge is none- if you are not sitting in the first rows you cannot see or hear anything. I paid over 50 euro for a concert ticket there, came 20 min before it started and found a spot litterly at the end where sound was none - it was like listening Vivaldi from my laptop left in another...
