OYSTERPEARL Beach House — Restaurant in The Hague

Terrible experience that made me feel unwelcomed as a tourist.

Came here for a drink and the service staff that came to take my order didn’t tell me a “water bottle” is not allowed on the table.

Another middle aged Caucasian male staff came by very rudely told me I cannot have bottle on the table, and that I can “dine somewhere else if I am unhappy”.

Subsequently spoke with the manager and clarified this isn’t a “rule” and it wasn’t written anywhere as a rule, but more of a house policy.

While I understand that restaurants can have their own policy, the service and the way the message was conveyed was incredibly rude and unwelcoming. They do not even cater an English menu and only has French German and Dutch menu.

Furthermore, I also do not see how this “rule” is relevant since I’ve ordered a paid drink, and tap water is provided for free at restaurants in the Netherlands.

Highly suggest management to look at communication training and re-evaluating the relevance of this “rule”. Overall an unpleasant experience and did not enjoy my time there at all due to the rude...

Nice bar directly on the beach. It can appear as equivalent to the others, but it seems to have something more. It is elegantly furnished, not so big compared to others such that service is really efficient and friendly. Dishes look to be really well prepared and drinks are good. Maybe it's a little bit more expensive than the average, but experience pays back the price. We stayed there just for a pornstar drink, and it was perfectly made! Hope to try a...
