The Capitol Cinema — Attraction in Albert-Eden

It definitely has the feel of these old classic movie theatres. It definitely transports you to a different era.

The coffee was awesome, although I feel that $5 for such a small cup is quite dear.

There is only one screen, but they show various movies throughout the day. Many are independent or art films, but many are mainstream movies.

The seats are generous, and the theatre is nice and cool.

There is a selection of wines, beers, Kombucha, and cold drinks. I found it too expensive, but the movies are very cheap.

It's not wheelchair friendly at all. There are many steps. There are even steps going to the loo (from the basins) and more steps to the movie hall.

There is also very limited parking outside (maybe behind, but I couldn't see it). The limited parking is also limited to 5 mins or 60 mins.

I really love watching films here. The old world vibes from the velvet and crown molding on the walls and ceiling make it feel like a luxury night out. But the prices for tickets and at the small shop are reasonable. The chairs are big and you sink into them like a comfy couch. There are small tables in between so you are not wrestling for space with your neighbour. Luckily it is not usually full and you have some breathing room. Did "Barbenhiemer" (where you watch Barbie and Oppenheimer on the same day) and had a blast! The cinema itself is super charming; the box office and snacks bar are one and the same The refreshments were tasty and typical of a traditional "movie experience" (nothin fancy but popcorn, ice creams, soda, and adult beverages on offer).
