I recently had the displeasure of dining New Flavour that provided one of the most abysmal experiences I've ever had. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that the service would be far from satisfactory. We were greeted with indifference, and it quickly became apparent that the concept of hospitality was foreign to the staff.
To begin with, there was a complete lack of service. We had to pick up our own cutlery, menus, and even water glasses from a counter. It felt like we were doing the restaurant's job for them. It's not unreasonable to expect some level of assistance and guidance when dining out, but at this establishment, we were left to fend for ourselves.
But the real nightmare began when we placed our orders. The food took an eternity to arrive, and the delay was completely unjustifiable. There was no communication from the staff about the delay or any effort to keep us informed. Our hunger only grew as we watched other tables receive their meals before us, despite arriving much later. It was clear that our table had been neglected.
Frustrated and hungry, we decided to speak to the manager about the unacceptable delay. Unfortunately, that decision only made matters worse. The manager's response was nothing short of appalling. Instead of addressing our concerns with empathy or professionalism, they were outright rude and dismissive. It was as if our dissatisfaction inconvenienced them, and they had no interest in rectifying the situation or providing any semblance of customer service.
It's disheartening to see such a lack of care and regard for customers in a supposedly reputable establishment. Dining out is meant to be a pleasant experience, but this restaurant managed to turn it into a regrettable ordeal. From the absence of proper service to the egregious delay in receiving our food, and the abysmal behavior of the manager when confronted, this was an all-around disastrous dining experience.
I strongly advise anyone considering dining at this restaurant to think twice. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment by choosing a different establishment that values its customers and prioritizes providing a pleasant...
Read moreDON’T EVER VISIT THIS PLACE. They intentionally scammed us by faking the bill, and refused to produce a tax invoice telling us what we were paying for. Staff were also horrible to deal with, unaccepting of their mistake, and had a flippant attitude. I would give it 0 stars if I could.
We had a group of 22 people, most of us ordered dumplings or noodles, all of which were around $11-15 a plate. A few people ordered sides/snacks, but all up you would have expected it to cost under $20pp, even after you add corkage.
To my utter shock and surprise, when we went to settle the bill, the extremely rude woman at the counter told us we must each pay $22. When queried why, she pointed at a tattered paper note on the counter which said either pay in full or split equally. Rather unreasonable if you only get to find out at the counter. I pressed on to question why it came to $22, as it appeared ridiculously high considering what we ate, and she couldn’t come up with any reason or proof. So we asked for a tax invoice, itemising our order, and she blatantly refused our request - insisting it was $22 each and saying she can’t possibly give us a tax invoice. We then informed her that by law, a tax invoice must be provided upon request - she said she couldn’t. So we then said ok that’s fine, we will be reporting you to the IRD - she then quickly said “oh, no no, it’s $20 per person.” By which time we only had a few people left to pay. Her defence was that apparently there is a $20pp minimum charge - which we were not informed about at all, at any stage during the night.
After a long argument, she circled all the items we ate on the menu, including corkage, and our total came to only $408.20. Meaning they overcharged our group by over $70. This is clearly fraud.
If you can’t do honest business, don’t do it at all. I REPEAT, DON’T EVER VISIT THIS PLACE.
Other notes: service was shocking: guy serving us told us we couldn’t join our 2 tables because we will break the floor and fall through the roof we asked for water and bowls repeatedly to the same guy and never got it so we went and...
Read moreI came with my family for dinner and left dissapointed. The food was bland, nothing special. The worst part was the menu, the dishes have no description of what is in it, and is very misleading. We ordered noodles, and when we realised it had beef (there was no description in the menu to let us know), we asked to return the food and they wouldn't even let us do that, yet alone exchange it. I found it rude how the staff told us it was our fault for not asking for the description, it is meant to be their responsibility and it is not my problem that their was no mention of meat in the name of the dish. Completely spoiled my night.
Edit: Your response is the perfect example of why I called you rude. There is no need to show an attitude, mentioning salt and pepper. The least you can do is add whether or not the combination noodles were vegetarian, and the main ingredients. You should have named the dish 'combination MEAT noodles.' Your response shows you are inconsiderate of your customers, without a care for their diets, allergies, and religion. Don't exaggerate about the menu being as thick as a dictionary, I've been to multiple restaurants and yours was the only place that didn't have the common sense of writing a short description on the menu, yet alone having clear dish names and giving...
