I have been visiting this gym when I come to Christchurch 2 or 3 times a year for about 10 years, always paying the $20 casual rate, and have always returned because it is a great gym and suits my needs. However today I had a bad experience with the female manager and one of the female personal trainers. As my session progressed I was going heavy on the decline bench and needed a spot for safety. I spent some time looking for another member who might be willing to help but no luck. So I asked at reception and was told that I could ask a personal trainer if they were not busy with a client . One female trainer was walking towards us, so I asked if she could help, but instead I got told that I should train with a friend, or lift lighter weights, or book a session with a personal trainer. I eventually approached a middle aged male trainer who was just finishing with a client and he graciously agreed to spot me - it took 30 seconds! The attitude from the manager and the first trainer was not what I wanted as a customer. The manager suggested that I should go to a different gym! And I will definitely take that advice on future trips to...
Read moreThe Cityfitness itself is good but the service on the front is just the worst I have ever had at any Cityfitness. They dont have any organisation of stuff that has been handed in. I lost a Charger with adapter (both together) which has been handed in and it was even in the book. They could not find it and I came 5 times back and everytime: "sorry, we take your number and the manager will call you once it has been found" (in our pure chaos). The manager seemed to just dont care at all and never called me and then I came back another time and I only got my charger back. The adapter has apparently taken by any staff or a random customer aka thief who claimed one part which is plugged in another one is his. (staff should notice at this point something is wrong here) Today they just told me: " Sorry, we trust in the goos nature of humans'" Just wow, so to everyone thief out there: you can just go to the Cityfitness service desk at Moorhouse and get your free stuff. They dont even ask for your name. Im done with this Cityfitness Moorhouse, you earned the prize for the worst and most incompetent service in New Zealand,...
Read moreI hadnât seen any info on cancellation or holds advertised or mentioned and Iâve just found out when trying to cancel.
1st itâs not a simple process, you have to answer a whole Q and A on why youâre leaving with the website chatbot. Iâm a member on the app but Iâve had to use the âmember portalâ which Iâve never come across and that wouldnât let me login, even after changing passwords and trying on both phone and laptop. Thereâs a form you have to then complete and itâs 4 weeks notice to cancel, therefore youâre paying another 4 weeks membership. This would make sense for a small gym who needs to replace your membership but CF takes new members continuously.
The other option is to put your membership on hold, this has a maximum of 12 weeks and COSTS to have put it on hold.
If you do decide you want to cancel and ever rejoin, new basic memberships are limited access to your âhome gymâ only, meaning you canât visit multiple locations on the basic membership.
Bit disappointing and it seems very much like...
