Archie Brothers Christchurch — Attraction in Christchurch

Had the most amazing experience this afternoon at both Archie Brothers and Holey Moley for some games, drink and snack.

The day started being served by the smiling sunshine Ray who presented me my very own Game Pass for the arcades and claw machines. She explained in detail how the cards worked, how to reload them and where the machines were stationed to top up and check balances. Excellent service

After my work out playing mainly basketball as its one of my favourites, it was time to get a drink and a snack to replenish the energy. So off to the bar at Holey Moley with greetings from both bar staff and a beautiful display of cocktails. I was served by Tyler who I asked what he recommended for a pep up cocktail and suggested the Stormy Night. This definitely gave the energy I needed with that warm ginger and lime accompanied beautifully with rum. Thank you for the service and recommendation of that lovely bamboo glassed cocktail.

For my snack I ordered the Kumara chips that came with Spicy Aioli. Oh my goodness Mikey and the kitchen crew cooked them superbly. They were nice and soft centered with that bit of crunch on the outer layer and the aioli gives it a nice wee kick to explode flavour of the kumara. Great job kitchen crew as I'm quite fussy when it comes to chips.

After a wee rest before returning to the games a suggestion crossed my path to have a game against Trey "Eggplant Man". Well challenge accepted and back to the hoops it was to verse Trey. Being a tiny person playing against a tall eggplant I thought I'd be beat, a 27-14 win to me said otherwise and with was a fun experience playing against a crew member of Archie Bros. Celebratory Selfie for us champs.

To end my afternoon I spent it on the claw machine hoping to nab myself a souvenir of my wonderful experience. It was me verse a storm trooper. Another crew member Joel was passing by as I was on attempt two to bring him home. Down goes the claw looking like it wasn't going to nab that big noggin, it was a tense moment as it lifted in the air with its wobbles and yes! Victory! Joel thank you for celebrating the win and bringing that luck over.

Thank you to all the crew at both Archie Brothers and Holey Moley for making this experience exciting, full of thrills, fun and a bunch of good laughs. I recommend all to give this experience a go and enjoy yourselves. I'll definitely be coming back for my birthday...

We left our recent bowling experience very disappointed and wanted to share our feedback.

We made an online booking for a group of 7 people. As there was no option to select the number of lanes, we assumed, reasonably, given the group size, that we would be allocated two lanes. On arrival, we were told we had only one lane, which made the experience frustrating. Only three people could fit on the couch, leaving the rest of us standing awkwardly in a tight space.

To make things worse, staff rudely told us to "hang out" at the bar, even though we were just waiting our turn in the bowling area. We also experienced delays and mix-ups with our drinks, some took over 20 minutes to arrive and others were incorrect.

When we noticed the lane next to us was empty, we asked if we could use it for our second game. That same staff member who told us to move said it wasn’t her area and told us to go all the way back to reception to check, despite the long line there.

Overall, the evening was incredibly frustrating and felt completely mismanaged- made even worse by the fact that we spent $280 for what turned out to be a chaotic, uncomfortable experience. It’s unacceptable that your booking system allows large groups without ensuring adequate lane space. If you can't accommodate groups over five properly, that should be made explicitly clear at the time of booking. The lack of clarity, poor service, and dismissive staff left us feeling angry, disappointed, and...

Expensive considering an excessive amount of broken or offline games.

The Sega racing games all 4 have no sound, one has a broken headrest, another one has a broken off gearstick and a third is offline. On the Asphalt Legends games one has an air calibration error, another has no locking mech for the seat rails so the seat just slides around and is probably unsafe for a kid. Had a game give a hard ball error as it took the money twice, might have been the ping pong one. One of the 2 VR headseats has error on the card reader. The water squirt game is having trouble rendering and keeps skipping frames really badly. One of the claw games has a error on the card reader. Both of the air hockey tables have so much grime and dirt caked on the felt for the paddles they don't move freely.

There's plenty of other broken stuff all around, from visual to games oflfine but this list will give you the general idea. They also have a very small selection of consoles compared to timezone in Christchurch or Nleson or Archie Brothers in Auckland.

Sorry guys but these games are exactly what people are here for. If they are broken or offline what are you selling exactly?
