Japanz Bakery — Restaurant in Christchurch

We arrived at the bakery shortly before 2 PM last Sunday and were a bit disappointed to find that some of the bread had already sold out. However, I was lucky enough to get a Matcha donut and a medium Matcha Latte. The latte was strong and flavorful, and the donut was absolutely delicious – a unique Matcha flavoured custard cream that I haven't found anywhere else.

There were a couple of small tables with 3-4 chairs each near the shop, which made it convenient to enjoy our treats right there. We'd definitely return if we're ever in...

This wee shop in South City is always busy, and for good reason! My go to treat is a slice of the matcha cake, and I love picking up their gift boxes around Christmas. It’s hands down my favorite bakery—I’m just waiting for the perfect excuse to buy a full-sized matcha cake. (The chocolate cake is great too, but matcha and red bean will always be my top choice.)

I bought a box of three kinds of bakery last Sunday, and the twisted dognuts were dry. I wonder if it is worthy to come all the way from the west part of CHCH to buy them here. The staff wasn't friendly at all. Only I heard from her was the amount that I needed to pay. When I asked her to get a box, she said nothing but staring at me, lol They even didn't get me the receipt, which I want to check the lists of multiple items I paid for. Wouldn't go back...
