Muffin Break South City — Restaurant in Christchurch

My husband was buying my weekend morning muffin (as we often do) and pointed to the gluten free blueberry muffin and asked for “the blueberry one”. While waiting for the coffee he checked the bag and saw it was the non gluten free blueberry. When he said so to the staff member she snatched the bag and scrunched it up with the muffin inside and threw it away while looking directly at him. How very polite and mature. He then paid the extra and got the gluten free one. It was awkward for him and actually kind of embarrassing for her. We live in the middle of the bus terminal muffin break and the south city one. Guess which one we will go to from now on. There’s no requirement for rudeness or tantrums when mistakes are made.

With regards to the reply. Again, the issue was the way the customer was treated not the actions taken. All of the above could have been done politely and maybe even with a smile. If the situation had been explained he would have paid for a new muffin and bought the gluten free one. There was none of that....

Probably one of the worse experience i have had so far. Went there to redeem a free coffee on my card and the girl who was serving was fine but the zoe was making coffees and it was like she hates her job. No smile, no friendly face. She served me coffee as if i asked kidney from her. Coffee tasted okay but was served in dirty dishes. Im a barista myself and the jugs in which she was serving looked like they have not been washed from ages. I was given a hot drink in a handle less cup. Ordered a coffee, and small pasta and cheesecake. Can I have pasta heated please, was told its eaten cold. Most disgusting pasta I've ever eaten, it was greasy and oily, and definitely could've done with heating to soften it all up. The cheesecake was not the best I've had from MF but edible. Strange tho, as both pasta and cheesecake were served ON THE SAME PLATE!! It wasn't busy either so they weren't saving time with dishwashing.
