We went for the art and light show. Initially I decided against going because it was so late for the kids, but they kept bugging me and it was worth it! The art was amazing and intricate but mostly the staff made the whole visit. As soon as we arrived someone was there to greet us and direct us where to go, every room had some lovely person to explain the area. Everyone was just so lovely and warm and welcoming. We particularly loved the lady at the counter who very patiently helped me learn a few words in Chinese. She has renewed my interest in learning the language. Upstairs they had calligraphy, my kids who struggle to sit still, sat there for half an hour writing over the examples with such intense interest and concentration. We will be going back again for sure.

A serene haven within the bustling city - this tranquil café nestled in the heart of a Buddhist temple on Riccarton Road offers a unique oasis. Catering to vegetarians and those with gluten-free preferences, it extends a culinary experience that transcends dietary choices. Despite not being a vegetarian myself, I found the food here to be exceptionally delicious and of superior quality. With each visit, I eagerly delve into a new dish, each proving to be a delightful gastronomic adventure. Moreover, the presence of an art gallery and meditation suite adds layers to the experience, inviting exploration beyond culinary delights. Every visit to this sanctuary leaves me with a profound sense of tranquility, a testament to its serene ambiance and soul-soothing environment.

This peaceful cafe is in the heart of the Buddhist Temple on Riccarton road. It’s a hidden treasure. It’s Vegetarian and mostly Gluten Free. Although I’m not vegetarian, the food is delicious and presented to a high standard. I try a new dish on each visit and have enjoyed each one. This visit we had a Fried Noodle Dish, Pan Seared Dumplings and Polenta Fries for lunch - all delicious. They have tea, coffee and slices, great for a catch up with friends or meeting with colleagues. They have outside seating and inside housed by the impressive temple facade and floor to ceiling windows. Theres also an art gallery and mediation suite there as well to explore.

I stumbled upon this temple and it's café by mistake. A failed mission into town led me to walk past and see a sign for an embroidery exhibition. The exhibit was awesome. The staff was awesome, leading me around and showing me their favourite art works. Then, the café was a gem. Something as simple as a ginger and lemon drink was made to perfection - my partner got the chai latte. As a chai latte fan myself I have to say it might be the best I've had in town - not overly sweet, naturally balanced (not out of a packet). I can't wait to go back for some food soon. Highly recommend!

The Chocolatte Food festival at the temple was a celebration of Food. The atmosphere was pleasant and calm. Many helpers to explain what was happening, Food from many cultures, music groups playing. The building is fascinating architecturally. Exhibitions are interesting. The Cafe has a wide range of vegetarian food and a lovely atmosphere.

My favourite place to go. Everybody so friendly, the atmosphere peaceful. The restaurant has delicious vegetarian food, delightful cakes too. The temple is open for the public look through the Buddha hall upstairs, and enjoy the art gallery. The temple is closed on Mondays.
