Just had my son's birthday party over the weekend at Timezone Riccarton. The kids enjoyed themselves with the games but the experience as a parent is certainly not great!
First of all, we booked online for the party at 1pm, of course when the timeslot is available you would expect that the party room is available. But we were told later that all the party rooms are fully booked? (And I don't quite understand how it could be fully booked, doesn't it says 45 minutes to use the party room on the website?) We can either change the time (which we then have to inform all other parents of the changes) or we can use the bowling area for the party, with no decorations.
I missed the confirmation phone call on Thursday evening, and when I tried to call back on Friday, there's no answer at all! I called so many times and even tried on Saturday morning, nobody picked up the call. We finally received a call on Saturday mid morning to confirm the party.
We were told that Oceana is our dedicated party host, but when we arrived she was busy and didn't even talk to us! Another girl attended us but we wasn't told that she's our party host. She explained to the kids how it works, gave them the cards and then she hasn't once come back to look for us! We have to look at the time, go find the kids and then when I approached Oceana whether it's time now for the kids to do the bumper car, she told me she's not our host and I have to look for Ella!! When Ella finally came, I asked her whether the kids can do the bumper car now, and she asked 'have they done their game times?'. I would expect that a 'DEDICATED' party host would know that?
The kids had fun, but it was a stressful experience for the parents. I feel the party organisation and communication is poorly done and could have been managed better. This one star rating is from a parent's...

One of the things that stood out to me about Timezone Riccarton is how much my kids enjoyed going there. They had a blast playing the arcade games, and they especially loved the laser tag. The arena is well-designed, and the equipment is top-notch, providing a thrilling experience for everyone involved.
The mini-golf course is another great feature of Timezone Riccarton. It's well-maintained and challenging enough to keep things interesting, but not so difficult that it becomes frustrating. It's a great way to spend an afternoon with the family, and it's a refreshing change of pace from the arcade games and laser tag.
In addition to the attractions, the staff at Timezone Riccarton is friendly and helpful. They're always available to answer questions or provide assistance, and they do a great job of keeping everything clean and organized.
Overall, I highly recommend Timezone Riccarton for families looking for a fun and entertaining day out. Whether you're interested in arcade games, laser tag, mini-golf, or all of the above, you're sure to have a great time at this...
Read moreWe came back as a group the week after we had previously been. Unfortunately the hammer strike game was out of order but the mini golf had just opened so we played. It was a very poorly designed course. Each hole was at the top of a circular mound which made your shots towards the hole impossible. And as each hole had a 6 stroke limit, we found ourselves marking 6 on almost every hole. I get it, you can't drill in the concrete to make holes. But the holes don't even have to be that deep and a square ramp would have made much more sense so at least you can aim and not have a circular variable thrown into the mix once you putt your ball. The course was crowded also as people were just allowed to wander on through as they approached. Perhaps letting a group get to hole 5 perhaps before another group goes through. Sorry for the long rant but I feel you would like to know so you can add it to the list of other mini...
