This is feedback is generally for one Lady staff who use to work at Shop at Manchester street near pak n save I have regularly come by for Jalapeño samosas ( 2 for $5 ). This lady has a worse attitude towards indian customers. I can feel it that Shop layout tent to target both indian and kiwi customers but this Lady staff priority is generally Kiwi customers when it comes to giving customers services which i have noticed many times with no greetings upon arrival to Shop or even to the counter for payment but definitely it happens when kiwi customers comes in . I had experience my bad experience with her when I ordered 2 for $5 samosas but couldn't say Jalapeño properly then she have to correct me by yelling at me and shame smile. I completely ignored it and enjoyed my samosas but later since it's been my regular visit mostly 4 or 5 times a week i noticed she has bought this every single time to make other person embarrassed. One time I stud up and Said even if I don't say the name right you know exactly what I need by pointing at it and only those are 2 for $5 samosas you guys sell and then she told me whatever. I told her I wouldn't be making visit to that site at Manchester street because of her rude behavior and she smiled back saying that's good. I started going to your other shop by ferry road where lovely staff have always looked after me very well. Later when I heard that Shop in Manchester street is closed and both Shop staff is merging and one day during stock shift over to other shop I have see her there with owner next to it and that was the only time I seen her giving her best services to me knowing what happened at other shop and owner was next to her so she didn't want me to say anything to the owner but again on my later visit at least 5 times since she i doing exactly what she was doing at other shop. Please do take this feedback seriously since there's been many indian shop around Christchurch I have witnessed since I have been living in Christchurch since 2008 and Market is very tough atm and only things can get better by providing good customers services and better shop layout. Feel free to get in touch with me to hear this in detail. Looking forward to hear back...
Read moreThey sell expired items without notifying customers or putting expired items to clearance shelf with sign dates items etc. Its not the first time I have received an expired product, happened few times in the past as well. But I thought it might be just a mistake considering the variety of items they sell , Regardless though items should be checked and moved around to eliminate the process of selling expired items. I bought an item (Frozen food) couple of weeks back and noticed it today while using taste was really bad and product was already expired back September 2016 (Manufactured September 2014). Selling products which are expired more than a year ago really!! Very bad systems in place. I had to put it in rubbish rather than wasting my time making complaints etc, but thought of putting a reasonable review to make customers aware, if they do shop at Guruji Christchurch for whatever reason, must check expiry dates for items before paying for them. I would honestly give them 0 stars, if possible as worst experience with Guruji Christchurch and would not shop for Indian groceries...
Read moreGreat range but disinterested, unhelpful staff. I went in looking for curry leaves. Couldn't find them so asked if they had any. The guy, just chatting about nothing in particular with his mates, said they "sold out yesterday". I asked the seemingly obvious followup, as he didn't elaborate further, and was told he'll put an order in tomorrow and went back to chasing with his mates. Slack attitude. Disappointed.
Good if they have what you need - although some stuff is still cheaper at Bin Inn, or even the supermarket (don't be fooled by this stores 'special' signs - not always accurate).
I'd go back for specific items, otherwise I'll continue with Bin Inn or the...
