This is my second time here and although we had a great time the first time (an hour for $22 for kids under 6 years on a weekday) , this second time left a bitter taste in my mouth. We had gone on a public holiday and prices were a little dearer ($24 an hour for under 6 years). Now as bubs is a 3 year old, we mentioned one of us would be present to accompany. When we asked a girl at reception, she said it was $24 for entry. When I asked if we wanted to extend a little more later how much would it be, she said $6 for a half hour for under 6 years. So we said okay we'll see how the first hour goes.
The park is nice and spacious, a few areas were closed for the under 12s and the guns which pitched balls were all not working. But after a wee bout the bubs asked if we could stay a bit longer. Hubs went over to buy and extention and was billed $16. When he said we were told $6 for half hour, reception was incredibly unhelpful and said it's $6 for under 6 year old and $10 for over 6 year olds. And because he had to accompany her, he had to pay the $10. He argued this wasn't communicated earlier when we asked. There wasn't an explanation that it may be $24 at entrance but an extention meant you had to pay separately. We felt entirely blindsided. In the end we paid $40 for an hour and a half, only to find out if you pay for an hour and a half up front you would pay only $34. Considering that I would have happily paid that amount any way if we were given the options, this just felt like an greedy way to get excess money. We paid for it but we left with a bitter taste in our mouths.
It is a fun place for both adults and littles. Just go on with your eyes open and make sure to ask everything first if you have under 6 years that requires adult care. Places like chipmunks don't charge for carers or by the hour so we definitely did not expect that. Probably my fault for assuming. Ah well, once bitten. Just makes me reluctant to...
Read moreMay 4th. Perfect for family fun. Although no one could use coffee machines. Also, the only way in is through the closed mall main door which wasn't obvious as getting dark or slipping in through a few shops. We were there at 4.30 pm, and the time limit was paid for play for one hour and off. For the next colour bands. I would suggest that if only a few children and plenty of staff which there appeared to be the time could be extended perhaps. Certainly a perfect place for young and older from what I saw. Maybe Ninja paper on table would be idea. Or Ninja mammals. N.T. You do have to supply all your party needs from water to pizza from conveniently located in the mall. Or like us just cake and presents and then we were leaving which I wasn't aware of, as my misinterpretation.
I had to leave and go to a local coffee shop, which I guess is possibly better quality than someone who can't use the machine.
The children were all exhausted, and they enjoyed the whole area. I would have gone onto the play area, but it was too expensive. In retrospect, people were moving away from the table, and staff started clearing tables. Overall, we were happy. No one got hurt, although we had no view of the play area, and even from the front, visibility is great but very limited at the side. However, 5 out 5.for the children's fun from the 5-year-old to the 10-year-old. That's what matters did they enjoy the time and absolutely.
I brought up a couple of issues with the owner, especially the coffee machine. âď¸ A definite need for parents. LOL. To calm nerves while watching.
Grandson got to have tea with us, and his hot dog vanished in minutes.
I would like to bring grandson back and...
Read moreOur 1-year-old son was injured during our visit, and the lack of compassion and support from staff was deeply disappointing.
We visited Ninja Valley Christchurch on July 2, 2025. While my wife was at the counter paying, our 1-year-old walked a short distance toward a staff member who was vacuuming in the reception area. Moments later, we found our son crying on the floor beside the staff member with a cut on his lip and bleeding. Shockingly, the staff member continued vacuuming, ignoring both the injury and our concern.
When I approached reception to ask what had happened and seek help, we were met with blame rather than care. The manager made no effort to investigate or even ask the staff if they saw anything. What was most painful was the total lack of basic first aid or empathyâno tissue, no ice, no âis he okay?â, just a dismissive âitâs just a cut, it will healâ directed at a toddler in pain.
While I completely understand that parents are responsible for supervising their children, we were not asking to shift blameâwe were simply asking for clarity and compassion. As a facility that caters to families with young children, I expected at least the bare minimum: first aid, concern, and a willingness to listen.
We left the facility hurt and disappointed. Iâve also written a formal letter to their management, hoping it leads to better training and awareness. I donât post reviews lightly, but I hope this serves as a reminder that creating a safe space for children goes beyond having padded wallsâit requires compassion, responsiveness, and care when...
