A wonderful simple campground. When we arrived reception was unattended and clear signage said to just pick a spot and call if you needed help. When I met the campground owner later on he showed me around and was truly lovely - he offered us extra woollen blankets for the cold nights ahead. The kitchen has a big fridge, freezer, oven, toaster, kettle, microwave, two sinks, and some extra heating elements. There is a checkers board and noughts and crosses which kept our boys amused. The other campers were all really friendly and the place had a great atmosphere. The tent sites were basically empty this time of year so we were able to set up close to the playground. There was no stress around arrival time or departure time. Our young family loved it! Thanks for hosting us

A must stay if visiting Greytown and the wider Wairarapa Region. Staying at Greytown Campground and exploring Greytown was one of the highlights of our New Zealand trip. We had an Great 5 night stay in one of the Shepherd Huts. The bed and sofa was super comfy and the Hut was really homely. Very clean bathroom facilities and equipped kitchen with all you need for your vacation. Kevin was a great host - very helpful and friendly. If we make it back to New Zealand, we will definitely stay and visit Greytown again!

Well situated location for exploring the area. The wagon we stayed in was a nice surprise, the staffing went out of their way to be helpful and the regular guest's had some good recommendations for visiting around the area. The place provides a shared kitchen, shower's and toilet's. The cleaning was of a high standard. Next to site is a free public outdoor swimming pool which was very popular with people camping and locals. Good value for money and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

2023 one day, It was heavy rain day and me and my little girl were traveling around Wellington and I found a place which was really good price. (I didn’t have enough money at that time) So I decided to stay in this place and I tried to setup my tent in the heavy rain but it wasn’t working so well but I had no choice. I took my daughter into the wet tent and gave her some meal on the wet floor but there was a bigger problem left that how we have a sleep tonight and I thought we would be okay if we sleep in the car and I was trying to set off the wet tent again in heavy rain and My body and all things in the tent got wet too. Almost cried… Suddenly a Manager of camp walked forward me and he started to help me until my things were all moved in the car safely and soon, he also got all wet. He asked me to where to sleep tonight and I told him that I had no money for book a room and he guided me to the one spare room and he said “ You can have a sleep in this room with your little girl and here is the room key and don’t worry about the money and you can stay here more nights if you don’t find any place for sleep”

I refused because I felt so sorry but he kept saying that it’s okay… and he disappeared after handed over the room key on my hand. You gave me a big inspiration on my hardest times when I just became a single mother… Thanks a lot for your wonderful kindness and I will visit your place someday and will book a high price one :-) .

Thank you so much. I will never...
