Despite what other recent reviews have said, me and 5 other people experience the table teppanyaki and thought it was excellent. I was hesitant to book at this place as reviews (these reviews) saying stuff like “small quantity for price, no engagement, not entertaining” and other. We booked it anyway as the daikoku in botany downs, Auckland is amazing. The teppanyaki (your on a table and someone is cooking for you, in front of you) was super entertaining, there are many entertaining moments that show off their skill and it’s all worth it (won’t tell you the moments as it will spoil the experience.) The service is great as there are two people looking after you, the one who cooks for you who puts on a great show and a person who’s role is the drinks or a change in order or sides. Both were superb excellent service. The food was great as well everything is cooked with passion and tastes amazing. Again despite what i had seen other reviews say the quantity of food was huge. Everyone was full afterwards. Even the cheapest teppanyaki combination you still get 6 servings of food. And the servings themselves take up half the plate! (Usual dinner plate size). If you like Japanese food and are interested in the teppanyaki experience this place is perfect. I also believe it’s cheaper then most other places that do teppanyaki and for the size of the course very well...
Read moreI am Japanese so I know what Japanese food and service is. I’m highly disappointed with food and customer services. I ordered Japanese course meal with deep fried chicken. It comes with sushi and sashimi as well. The sashimi was not present to eat. It wasn’t fresh, didn’t look real fish. The main, deep fried chicken, was so-so. I was confused with pea sprouts that was sprinkled on the plate. Sprouts itself taste strong. Why do they put it? Doesn’t suit the food. My husband got Teriyaki salmon was HORRIBLE. There wasn’t well seasoned, the teriyaki sauce was too salty and wasn’t sticky at all. Customer service was awful too. They don’t look happy at all. They don’t smile, they don’t see customer face. They asked if it was good food but don’t care when we respond “the food was just ok😒”. So why you asked?? If you don’t care, if you don’t appreciate the answer, don’t ask. That’s a shame that they are Japanese. Where is Omotenashi?? If a person who doesn’t know Japan, would think this is the Japanese quality and be disappointed. We paid $70 for this poor quality. I will not come...
Read moreAs a birthday celebration we went to have a dinner here, two adults, and a preteen. We made sure that our reservation stated clearly that there were two of the three people are gluten-free and dairy free, we trusted that the food we were eating was safe, however the two people found their food DID indeed have dairy, it is not a choice to have food intolerances, especially when each dish that was handed we asked if it was DF and GF, I am extremely disappointed and would not go back for the food, there was no substitute for some of the dishes and yet still had to pay full price without any discount or reasonable resolve. My preteen is sensitive to noises and said it was loud, the clanging of utensils made them a bit on edge. It was an experience, the chef was a laugh and made the interactions very funny and we laughed and enjoyed the...
