The Gateau House — Attraction in Henderson-Massey

Meet the lovely store manager, Yoon Cho; she has been managing this Henderson store for 14 years now, along with a handful of hardworking and dedicated part-time staff like Esther. I pre-ordered two beautiful and healthy birthday cakes, 1. Marble Chiffon cake, which had mixed layers of chocolate and vanilla sponge with fresh cream in between, and 2. Fruit Supreme Gateau, which had a vanilla sponge, with fresh cream and fresh seasonal fruits on top, for two special birthday celebrations. Thank you, Yoon, for your thoughtful advice and for helping me pick the right cakes for my family to enjoy and not feel guilty about the additional calories. I appreciate all the personalized touches, like the birthday messages on the edible chocolate discs.

I’m very disappointed with your store. I purchased a cake and a candle, but no one informed me that I needed to buy plates or a knife separately. I assumed they would be included in the box. If they weren’t, someone should have at least told me. The cake was for a family member celebrating their birthday in the hospital, and when we discovered there was no knife, we had no idea how to cut it.

You spend so much money on advertising and promoting high-end products, and I’ve always been willing to pay for that. But an incident like this is truly disheartening. I recently tried the Black Forest cake from the Gateau House and I was really impressed. The cake was perfectly moist and fluffy, and the balance of sweetness was spot on. The decoration was flawless with a beautiful arrangement of cherries and chocolate shavings on top, making it as visually stunning as it was delicious.

On top of that, the customer service was excellent. The shop owner was very friendly and made the whole experience really easy and pleasant. It's always nice to feel welcomed especially when you're picking up something special.
