The overall management level of this supermarket is extremely low, including the attitude of the customer service towards the customers, impolitely accusing them, arbitrarily assuming theft, and crowded shelves causing conflicts between restocking and shopping times. I've only been to this supermarket twice. The first time, the cashier barely looked at me or greeted me. The second time, a different tall female cashier not only failed to provide proper service but rudely insisted that I leave the shopping basket. I found it strange that nobody wanted the basket, yet her tone made it seem like I was trying to steal it, giving off a very low and malicious impression. Then, while I was busy finding boxes to pack my items, she loudly told me: Can you pay the money now! in Chinese, something I've never experienced at any other supermarket. Surprisingly, she hadn't even set up the EFTPOS machine properly, and I had to remind her that I wanted to pay by card. Can you believe it? The customer service here is truly awful. I was planning to complain about my shopping experiences these past two days, but reading past reviews shocked me as the behavior of this supermarket goes beyond just poor management, even involving privacy violations and illegal harassment of customers. This indicates that this supermarket is at risk of being reported or sued at any time. I encourage everyone to refer to the New Zealand Consumer Act and report this...
Read moreI am a visually impaired special needs customer who is a casual customer of Smart Mart Supermarket and the service I received today was unacceptable.😔
First of all the person we asked to help us was unhelpful and didn't give us the appropriate information we were looking for.
Also, when I attempted to refund a product they told me that I can't refund it. I explained to them that I am visually impaired and I was unable to see the kg pricing symbol properly, which led to me mistakenly buying the product, and not realizing the product was 5 times the price written down.
I explained this several times to the checkout lady and manager. However, they ended up being rude , aggressive, arguing and not understanding the simple mistake I made. The manager angrily said I won't do that for you many times and I asked why he cannot several times do that for me but he did not reply to me. The checkout woman also told me "don't come back here" "I don't care if you come here every other week don't come".
They could have explained simply instead of starting an argument that I try to avoid due to my disability.
I am a regular customer and have been coming here every 2-3 weeks ever since this shop has opened and it was heartbreaking to be treated...
Read moreI went in today, proceeded to pick up my items, had my bag on my side. As I went to get my items scanned the worker (female, did not get a chance to catch her name, she also had a mask on, but had black hair, and some freckles on her face), she looked at me in confusion, I then nicely asked if there was any issue, to which she then put her hand into my bag WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, and grabbed the shampoo in my bad that I had bought earlier, at a different retailer (Sylvia Park, shampoo store). She then accused me of stealing this product from their store, which they do not even have. I explained to her I had bought it at another store, and she ignored me, and scanned the shampoo. I tried to get my receipt out to show I had bought it somewhere else, and she AGAIN ignored me.
I went back into the store, and asked a few employee's if they I could speak to the manager, they all either walked away or ignored me. One women told me to speak to someone at the checkout. I was then met with workers disregarding what had happened, and laughed in my face. A customer was translating for me, and this same customer also laughed with the workers in my face.
This is extremely disgusting behaviour, that seems to be extremely common at...
