My friend and I were visiting the region. We were staying in Greytown but I’d read about Rachel in Travel Stuff so emailed her to ask if it was essential for us to be staying at her house to be a party to dinner? Rachel responded by saying we could join two other couples for dinner. We had no idea what to expect other than what had been written. Rachel has such charisma and warmth and was so welcoming, as is her co host a sweet little miniature, three legged foxy called Mia. Also (and I can’t recall her name) a lovely woman serving at the table. Slightly ditsy and such fun! She was a wonderful icebreaker as there was actually a total of four couples plus my friend and I. All relative strangers. She made us laugh as she wasn’t what you’d called your traditional serving person. So helpful though. The meal was four courses all beautifully presented followed by an explanation of the original region of each dish plus where the produce came from. Absolutely delicious. Conversation flowed and I eventually had to drag my friend Louise away who was in deep conversation with one of the guests. This is a wonderful experience and introduction to Martinborough hospitality. A little different. We can highly recommend. Rachel, we just loved the whole experience and thank you. We’d be there again in...

We were warmly met with some bubbles and treats and was shown a beautiful renovated cottage nestled in a magical garden. Great location close to town centre. We booked for an Italian dining experience on the Saturday night in the Gold Room and WHAT A MAGNIFICENT Experience that was! The food was out of this world, the care and attention to her clients is phenomenal and we will be hard pressed to have another dining experience top her's. The continental breakfast options were awesome, the barista coffee top notch and her home.made preserves were a highlight. We will be back for sure 😁 I can not stop smiling about our weekend....
Read moreI don't usually stay over in Martinborough because it is only an hour drive from home. This time i was going to a wine tasting and so decided to stay over. I booked a room at the prodigal daughter. It is a couple of blocks from the main street so a good location. There are a few rooms named and decorated as different countries. Mine was France. The room is large, the bed very comfy with nice linen and thank goodness for the heater. IT was a very cold night in Martinborough. Bathroom and shower a little small but lots of hot water and good pressure. Great to wake up to "real" coffee from a restaurant-quality espresso machine. Brekky of warm scones and homemade preserves was lovely. WiFi reliable. I did not sit by the fire in the lounge but it looked welcoming. I was not able to book the dinner but would love to sample Rachel's culinary skills another time. I only noticed too late that there is also a gin...
